Aug-16-04  Dick Brain: <SIGNORINA SMOKINA> This should be added to any list of great chess player names which include the likes of Mr. Pulvermacher and Mr. Hammer.
Nov-22-05  Udit Narayan: Smokina?

Nov-22-05  notsodeepthought: This player is obligated to keep very quiet whenever she plays, because any attempt to raise her voice invariably runs into the cautionary remark "No Smokin'a-loud".
Nov-26-05  Udit Narayan: <notsodeepthought> Thanks for the laugh.
Jan-02-06  Karpova: look, is she wearing a smocking jacket?

If it's of any assistance, there was an Anita Raksh-t who played for Oxford University in the 1980s.

Jan-06-06  blingice: Not very good, either.
Apr-13-08  DarthStapler: Peope already beat me to the puns

She had a sister called Mira, and two brothers whose names I forget. All members of my club in north London in the mid-70s.

Dec-20-11  thegoodanarchist: <WannaBe>

Anna Sharevich, of Belarus, is very attractive as well.

Dec-21-11  Cibator: BTW, <WMD:> : that name might seem amusing to Anglo-Saxon readers, but I'd better point out that a well-known morning TV presenter in NZ recently got fired for guffawing and making puerile comments about an eminent Indian whose name also ended with those four letters.

OBIT: So what ever happened to that figure skater Irina Slutskaya?
