Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-06-15  thomastonk: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pragu... states that this is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamil..., but I assume that this is wrong.

The chessplayer K. Krofta has often the prefix "Ing.", which means engineer, and this does not fit to Kamil's biography. Moreover, the "Česky denník" of 15 June 1913 gives his name as "Ing. Karel Krofta" (on the occasion of a game with "Prof. Karel Treybal").

Someone who has a copy of "První mezinárodní šachový turnaj v Praze 15.5. až 12.6.1908" by Kalendovský & Závodný may answer this easily.

Jul-07-15  thomastonk: I've spend a little bit more time with identifying him, and now I am sure.

The game Hromadka vs K Krofta, 1924 is published in "Lidové noviny" of 28 December 1924, and Black is named "Inž. Karel Krofta" (Inž. seems to be an alternative for Ing.).

I also tried to find the dates of birth and death. There is a Karel Krofta in Prague, born in 1885, but I am not sure, whether it is him. The chessplayer survived WW II, that's also sure.
