Dec-22-06  Rubenus: In Dutch we say: Den Haag.
Dec-22-06  dehanne: Magnificent city.

The 'supporters' of the football clubs ADO Den Haag and FC Den Haag are feared all over Western Europe for nothing!

tamar: Why is it called The Hague, instead of just Hague?
Dec-22-06  technical draw: You're right <tamar>. It's a half translation. Like calling El Salvador, "the Salvador" or "el Savior"...Should be Den Haag or Den Hague or The Hedge etc...Just some notes from the Langley....
Dec-23-06  cuendillar: Don't try to translate city names. 'Liverpool', as an example, would be ridiculous. The simple translitterations (whenever necessary) aren't that bad. Changing spelling needlessly however... Why not just (den) Haag?

Apr-10-12  sneaky pete: Gerrit Achterberg: Passage

tussen de voeten over het graniet;
rode hartkamer die in elleboog
met drie uitmondingen de stad geniet.
