Feb-20-08  stanleys: Congratulations from me too!

Mr Sanchez is a very tough opponent,he outplayed me nicely in a rapid game several years ago

Feb-21-08  Pinoychess: My apology =(

http://pinoychess.informe.com/forum...

Per official confirmation, Sanchez achieved his 1st GM norm and not the third... still congrats to our idol =)

May-13-08  stanleys: I managed to take my revenge against Mr Sanchez in a strong rapid tournament last Thursday.Despite this loss,he won his other 8 games and shared 1st place with GM Bauer (who won the tournament on tiebreak)

May-13-08  timhortons: stanley id seen you arguing with some of the member here at kibitzer caffe, in these site youre cool if you have a quad core computer and latest rybka and fritz, because that would give you a pass of kibitzing smart. if you beat sanchez in a tournament then you must be a masters level player and that means youre stronger than half of the kibitzer here including me.3/4 kibitzer here are cool fishes, only 1/3 know what they are talking about without a chess engine
May-24-08  ceedee: IM Joseph Sanchez is curently competing in another European tournament, the Open De Ajedrez Bicentenario Mostoles 1808. he is currently leading the tournament with a perfect score of four points after four rounds. in the fifth round, he will be facing top-seed Azer Mirzoev (2543) of Azerbaijan, Good luck, Joseph
May-26-08  timhortons: attention chessgames.com, is filipinaheart.com link appropriate for these page
May-26-08  micrab: GM norm may not be possible for Sanchez as there are only two gms competing in this tourney.
May-26-08  ceedee: agree, micrab. he will just improve his ELO rating if he fares well this tournament.

Another Filipino, IM Roland Salvador is also entered and ranked 13th after 8 rounds.
Feb-15-09  micrab: congrats to IM Sanchez for earning the GM norm (& GM title?).

Feb-21-09  visayanbraindoctor: <micrab: congrats to IM Sanchez for earning the GM norm (& GM title?).>

Could anyone give details on this?

Feb-23-09  zanshin: <visayanbraindoctor> Good to hear from you again ;-)

<IM Joseph Sanchez led the race until the very last round when he succumbed to rushing Hamdouchi. Still, Sanchez will be happy with condolence prize - GM norm, the same feat achieved by Italian IM Sabino Brunello.>
