Afro-Cuban National Master. Rogelio Ortega was Cuban champion in 1958 and 1966. He represented his country at the Olympiads of 1952, 1962, 1964, 1966 and 1968. His peak ELO was 2472 in October 1970 when he also reached his peak ranking of world no. 302. Ortega died somewhere in the 1980s. Dec-27-04  MonsieurL: I recently came across a game he played in the Chessmaster Database, Ortega vs. Ivkov, Capablanca Memorial, 1962. His uncommon opening of four pawns on the third rank is strange, but not included here. I wonder why! :)
