Hopefully enough fans will stay away to hurt the sports leagues financially, until they finally remove the politics (which are always Leftist). |

The country has no football culture and it is one of the worst imaginary locations for the event; with zero sporting arguments for this location it is obviously political> Actually it is not political - it is because of corruption: <In 2011, Phaedra Al-Majid, who was part of the successful 2022 Qatari World Cup Bid, came forward as a whistle-blower. She claimed that Qatar paid $1.5 million to African Football Confederation president Issa Hayatou, Ivory Coast FIFA member Jacques Anouma and Nigeria's suspended official Amos Adamu to vote for Qatar; all three denied the allegations. She later stated that she had fabricated her claims for media attention.[23][24] Al-Majid co-operated with the Garcia Report.[25] In November 2014, she stated that she was coerced into withdrawing her allegations as she feared for her safety and due to her lack of legal representation.[26] As of June 2015, she was in FBI protective custody, when she stated, "The FBI have everything... There are people who are annoyed with me [for speaking out], and what really irks them is that I'm a female, Muslim whistleblower.... I just don't think Blatter actually intends to quit. Everything he does is very calculated. He'll try very hard to save himself, I'm sure of it."[25]In May 2011, The Sunday Times published claims from a whistle-blower that President of CAF Issa Hayatou had, along with fellow Executive Committee member Jacques Anouma, accepted $1.5 million bribes from Qatar to secure his support for their bid for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.[27] > There's much, much more to it. Many, many FIFA employees and others were indicted and convicted. China will host 2022 Winter Olympics, how many hockey or luge or bobsled or curling or downhill alpine players are there in all of China? Host country's participation in the sport itself is moot. The goal (pardon the pun) is to expose the sport(s) to countries that never seen it. Except on TV. It's call market expansion. |

| Aug-03-20 | | thegoodanarchist: Whoo Hoo! Great news! Our fine president acts decisively again: Headline: <Trump Fires CEO of Tennessee Valley Authority for Outsourcing Jobs to Foreign Workers After Meeting With U.S. Tech Workers> Excerpt from the article:
<President Donald Trump fired the chairman of the Tennessee Valley Authority on Monday, citing the federally owned corporation’s decision to outsource a fifth of its jobs to foreign nationals, and the fact that CEO Jeff Lyash is “ridiculously overpaid.”The President’s decision came moments after meeting with the nonprofit organization U.S. Tech Workers, which engages in activism on behalf of American workers against the H1B visa program. <<<“Let this serve as a warning to any federally appointed board: If you betray American workers, then you will hear two simple words: ‘You’re fired,’”>>> Trump said Monday, speaking about TVA chair Jeff Lyash. Trump called planned TVA layoffs of American workers <<<“disastrous and heartless,”>>> and removed board members including Chairman James Thompson. Further firings were threatened if the TVA continued to prioritize foreign labor. Lyash, who has one of the most lucrative compensation packages in the country and has been described as “the highest-paid federal employee in America,” has previously sparred with Trump by shutting down a coal plant that the President pushed to keep open. Immediately after the President’s comments during Monday’s news conference, Trump revealed that the White House had received a call from Lyash indicating a <<<“willingness to reverse course”>>> on the layoffs and outsourcing of jobs to foreign workers.> HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Too late, Lyash! (you piece of trash). The traitorous scum got off better than he deserves (which is a good ol' fashioned tar-and-feathering.) Lyash lost the highest-paying federal job in the country! Why? Because he tried to throw Americans under the bus and replace them with foreigners. What an evil human being. <The President had previously met with U.S. Tech Workers, who had brought the issues of foreign outsourcing at the TVA and the wealth of Jeff Lyash to the attention of the public through a television ad campaign. Awesome news! The President listens to his base. #HireAmerican https://t.co/F8tLRkSeWw — The Columbia Bugle 🇺🇸 (@ColumbiaBugle) August 3, 2020 Trump signed an executive order Monday cracking down on federal agencies who dismiss American employees and replace them with green card holders from foreign countries.> |

| Aug-03-20 | | Big Pawn: <Free Speech Zone> You are allowed to hate me. Why should you be forced to love me? If you want to hate me, you can hate me and in the <Free Speech Zone>, you are free to express your hate for me. This must be tolerated in the <Free Speech Zone>. It's one of the compromises we make in order to have free speech. The Lord gives us Freewill, but one of the compromises is he allows us to sin against Him. In the same spirit, we are given free speech, but one of the compromises of free speech is tolerating speech we don't like. The libs want to silence speech they don't agree with because it is powerful speech. They can't engage the <central points> of their opposition in the arena of ideas, so they seek to silence it instead because if they don't, then the world will see how weak ideas are on the Left and how the Right is able to prevail on the intellectual battlefield. In this forum, the Left is invited to the fight but they must be willing to engage the <central points> of the debates that follow. Hate speech is Free speech with another label. Hate speech is "commie talk" for free speech. Given this fact, hate speech is allowed in the <Free Speech Zone>. |
|
| Aug-03-20 | | Big Pawn: <Troller: It seems that despite my username and political views I am not blocked from here.> You've always posted seriously, substantively and with insight on this forum, which is what we're looking for. <More problematic [at Rogoff] is the complete absence of actual debate, it has been a forum for pie-throwing for some time now.> That really is the problem and it makes it boring to post there. The libs refuse to engage in actual debate no matter how many times they are challenged. They are more comfortable just trolling, which is why they won't come to this forum, because they know they will be expected to address the <central points> of the arguments. The libs have been shown time after time to be guilty of spamming the rogoff page with low quality trash posts. When held up to the standard of Graham's Hierarchy of Disagreement, the posts are always level zero or level one - bottom feeding. Another problem at the <rogoff page> is the fact that the women who are the <chessgames.com admins>, are coddling the crybabies and treating grown men like children, as if we are students in their classroom. This will not do.
The men need a place to go where they can post freely and not have to be ashamed of their masculinity and competitive nature. Finally, we need a place where a truly free exchange of <ideas> can take place, without the suffocating cloud of political correctness choking the life out of free speech. Therefore, godless, commie, homosexual libs are free to post here as well, but they are expected to engage in the <central points> of the debate and always move narratives forward. Trolling will not be allowed here. Trolling can be thought of as substituting personal attacks in place of a proper response that engages the <central points> of disagreement. It can also be thought of as persistent harassment <instead of> either engaging in an ongoing debate or starting a new topic for debate. Just to be clear: name calling, personal attacks and harassment are allowed if that poster has also met the <central points> of an argument. In other words, it's okay to blow off steam and have some fun, but not at the expense of moving narratives forward - because that is what the top posters really want. We seek interesting debate and interesting debate moves narratives forward. Interesting debate involves both parties engaging the <central points> of the disagreement. Interesting debate does not involve endless distraction and misdirection. Unfortunately, I don't really have the time to moderate this page nowadays, so there may be a lot of crap here if someone comes to troll, but generally speaking, this page will function as the <New Rogoff Page> - an improved version of the old page. If I do come here and see the forum has been violated by pure trolling and the posters are unhappy, I will put that troll on ignore and that will be that. This will be a page for serious, substantive and insightful posting. <Philosophical thought of the week> You are right, <Troller>, I need to keep up on this, but I've been busy. I will try to do better. |

The protests and subsequent riots in the neighboring cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul’s marked the second most destructive incident of civil unrest in U.S. history. | Aug-04-20 | | Big Pawn: Let the Elite Posters see that the libs are scared to come to this page because they would have to engage in a real debate. The posters on this page regularly handle their sides of the debates in accordance with the uppermost two levels of Graham's Hierarchy of Disagreement, while the <Rogoff libs> generally bottom feed at level's zero and one.
