It seems that despite my username and political views I am not blocked from here.

I have visited the Rogoff forum a couple of times and never felt the need to post. I think it is an exaggeration to say the forum was "taken over" by a specific political/cultural direction - certainly also the opposite viewpoints would be displayed. More problematic is the complete absence of actual debate, it has been a forum for pie-throwing for some time now. And the "libs" have not been the only ones resorting to this, mind you.

The irony of all this is that sports people used to complain about politics entering into sport!

Athletes want to keep politics out of sports when it may cost them, but include it in other circumstances when it suits them.

I'm not familiar with any chess or sporting boycott related to Prague in 1968 but there was the Mexico Olympics that year which saw the "black power salute". Those guys were sent home in disgrace, today they would be lauded.

If the majority are really focused on the sport and not the politics, then there would be far fewer kneeling in homage to BLM.

I posted a link to the news story today of Israel Folau as the only person out of two rugby teams who refused to kneel for BLM. Every other player including the referee and officials all knelt.

Maybe the majority don't really care and just go along with it, or are afraid to go against the tide.
