May-31-16  Big Pawn: < Colonel Mortimer: See above. If your looking for a syllogism or a formula you're not going to get one>

I didn't ask you for a syllogism. I asked for *your* reasoning, which you said you relied on when you made your intellectual choice for pantheism rather than atheism.

You've not shared those reasons.

First you said you didn't "need" to, but you don't need to share your anti Americanism.

Then you said you weren't trying to persuade anyone, but recently you said the same thing in <Rogoff> and that doesn't stop you from expressing yourself there.

Then you said your reasoning was subjective, but so what? Share your reasons.

Then you said you already answered but you didn't answer my question. You answered some other question.

Final verdict: you don't know why you reject atheism (if you really do) and have zero reasons to think that pantheism is more plausible than atheism.

Not too impressive <mort>. If you were a theist, and in particular a Christian, you could articulate your reasons.

May-31-16  Big Pawn: <Pantheism is a doctrine which identifies God with the universe, or regards the universe as a manifestation of God. If you "truthfully recognise that you cannot possibly know that God does or doesn't exist", then you're not a Pantheist, you're an Agnostic. It's as simple as that!>

Well said optimal.

<Colonel, it's quite clear that you're lost and confused. May I suggest that you open a Bible, say a prayer and seek guidance.>

Amen to that.

May-31-16  Colonel Mortimer: See what I mean - religious fundamentalists pretend they have the answers, because without them they are totally lost.

It's just a game of self-deception. Good luck!

May-31-16  Big Pawn: <mort>, you can't save face by saying that. You've not given your reasons (you said you had them and based your pantheistic worldview on intellectual reasoning) as to why pantheism is more plausible than atheism.

You've come up empty.

May-31-16  Colonel Mortimer: I'm not pretending I have the answers.
Jun-01-16  Big Pawn: You are pretending that I asked you for answers.

I asked you to explain why, after your intellectual reasoning about worldviews, you found pantheism more plausible than atheism.

Jun-01-16  optimal play: <Big Pawn: <mort>, you can't save face by saying that. You've not given your reasons (you said you had them and based your pantheistic worldview on intellectual reasoning) as to why pantheism is more plausible than atheism.>

But he just revealed that he doesn't think Pantheism is more plausible than Atheism!

He doesn't really think anything!

<Colonel Mortimer> is totally confused!

He doesn't know what he is!

He doesn't know whether he's a pantheist or an agnostic or an atheist or a muslim or what the heck...?

He has no compass!

He knows what he's opposed to but doesn't know what he stands for!

The Colonel was basically asked this simple question, "What do you believe and why do you believe it?"

His response was a rambling blather about not imposing a personal belief about Santa Claus or something or other and denigrating organised religion.

In response to the question, "What do you believe and why do you believe it?", it would be most honest for the Colonel to just shrug and say, "I dunno?"

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Jun-01-16  Big Pawn: <Colonel Mortimer: <Big Pawn: 1. Did you choose this pantheistic worldview, or did someone else choose it for you?>

I arrived at it through my personal observations and intellectual endeavours.>

Here's another:

<Colonel Mortimer: <BP> <Will you defend the proposition "God does not exist"?>

I could do but I'm not inclined to. I'm more of a pantheist.>

Okay, so <mort> didn't like the atheist label I put on him and corrected me. He's not an atheist. He's a pantheist.

He arrived at this worldview based on personal observations (not impersonal ones), and his intellectual endeavours.

Well then, <mort>, tell me why and how you reasoned pantheism to be more plausible than atheism.

Last chance.

Jun-01-16  Colonel Mortimer: I'm without religion. Why is that such a crime?
Jun-01-16  Big Pawn: Yes, <optimal>, all we know is that <mort> is very, very open minded and respects all beliefs, and that I should forgive my parents for telling me Santa Claus is real - or something like that.

I'll say it again. <Mort> is evil. He is a dishonest person who hates what is good and loves evil. He hates the Truth and loves the lies. His main aim here is to sow discord among Christians, because he is evil.

Notice all his lame responses, that may work for him on a youtube thread flame war, but not here.

Not here <mort>.

Jun-01-16  Big Pawn: < Colonel Mortimer: I'm without religion. Why is that such a crime?>

I never asked you about your religion.

I asked you to explain what you already volunteered yourself, in the interest of philosophical inquiry.

You've come up with zip. Zero. Nada. Nothing.

Except some advice about Santa Claus.

Listen, you are in way over your head. Why do you lurk here?

Go back to the <rogoff> page. That's more your level. You'll have idiots over there that actually buy your baloney and lame excuses for not coming up with a defense for your worldview.

Bye <mort>.

Jun-01-16  optimal play: <Big Pawn> you've got to keep up!

Our dear <Colonel Mortimer> has since gone through another transformation and is no longer a Pantheist.

I'm not sure whether he's still an Agnostic or not?

That was five minutes ago so he may have "progressed" onto something else since then?!

:D)

Jun-01-16  Big Pawn: < optimal play: <Big Pawn> you've got to keep up!

Our dear <Colonel Mortimer> has since gone through another transformation and is no longer a Pantheist.>

Indeed, he has shifted positions so many times, but that is the point of my pressuring him with questions. Deflection is not allowed and neither are red herrings.

I just wanted it to be perfectly clear that he has no reasons to think his worldview is more plausible than atheism. In other words, even though he is an arrogant liar, and a person that says stupid things about Santa Claus (mocking theism), he is actually an empty head.

Most people don't realize that these atheists are empty heads. But I've shown over and over again that if you press these people, the have NOTHING. No answers. All of their phony knowledge is exposed as ignorance accompanied by bluster and arrogance.

I've shown that the mockers have no substance and no courage. That's my aim; to pop his balloon of arrogance by keeping him on topic and forcing him to engage in the arguments at hand.

Now he's claiming ignorance, and I can't argue with him about that!

Jun-01-16  Colonel Mortimer: Christian tolerance and charity - is that what you guys are trying to demonstrate?

Or do you simply dislike people who don't share your fixed world view? Perhaps it's because you find open mindedness threatening?

Jun-01-16  Big Pawn: <Colonel Mortimer: Christian tolerance and charity - is that what you guys are trying to demonstrate?>

Desperately trying to get away from the questions, eh <mort>?

Look at this red herring:

<Or do you simply dislike people who don't share your fixed world view? Perhaps it's because you find open mindedness threatening?>

LOL!

<optimal play> is a liberal and I'm a conservative. Do you find us disliking people with different views i.e. each other?

Red Herring is finished. Now back to our regularly scheduled program:

<Mort>, this is about philosophy. I'm just showing that you are nothing more than an arrogant, evil person that rejects God and mocks His believers.

But when push comes to shove, you have an empty head, which is why you don't believe in God.

Actually, the reason your head is empty is because you reject the Truth.

You know your godless worldview can't stand under scrutiny, so in order to avoid dealing with that, you deflect, but there is no way on earth I will let that pass in my forum.

Now go forgive your parents for not telling you the truth about God.

Jun-01-16  Colonel Mortimer: So because I don't accept your Christian God I'm evil?
Jun-01-16  optimal play: <Colonel Mortimer: I'm without religion. Why is that such a crime?> It's not a crime (well, not in a western democracy like NZ or Australia, but I wouldn't say that out loud in Iran or Saudi Arabia!)

<Christian tolerance and charity - is that what you guys are trying to demonstrate? Or do you simply dislike people who don't share your fixed world view? Perhaps it's because you find open mindedness threatening?> Why are you being so defensive?

Jun-01-16  Colonel Mortimer: Have you stopped beating your wife?
Jun-01-16  Big Pawn: <Colonel Mortimer: So because I don't accept your Christian God I'm evil?>

I made it clear here:

<He is a dishonest person who hates what is good and loves evil. He hates the Truth and loves the lies. His main aim here is to sow discord among Christians, because he is evil.>

Add to that that you mock the Truth.

<mort>, God is Good. You reject God. You reject the truth and the Good and embrace arrogance, ignorance and lies - and you come here to express it all in mockery as two Christians are having a discussion about Christianity.

You have no goodness in you. You are a liar and look to cause strife here, when you have no reasons for your own worldview!

Why do you lurk here?

Just to cause trouble, but you have no motive other than your love of evil.

Jun-01-16  Big Pawn: <Colonel Mortimer: Have you stopped beating your wife?>

No one has asked you a question with a loaded premise, you liar.

Asking you to explain the reasons that you think that pantheism is more plausible than atheism is not to ask you a loaded question.

You have no truth in you at all. Every word you speak is in service to lies. Every word.

Jun-01-16  Colonel Mortimer: Why am I compelled to reveal my personal beliefs? Why do I have to give reasons why I'm more of a pantheist than an atheist?

Why are you so fascinated by my beliefs?

Jun-01-16  Big Pawn: <Colonel Mortimer: Why am I compelled to reveal my personal beliefs?>

Gee, I wonder. Why do you reveal your personal beliefs about America on the <rogoff> page all the time for the last 10 years?

All of a sudden a question about pantheism and atheism is too personal? I didn't ask you what color underwear you are wearing.

Not buying it <mort>.

<Why do I have to give reasons why I'm more of a pantheist than an atheist?>

What is this word, "have"? You come to my forum, try to disrupt my conversation about the resurrection, mock Christianity, announce that you are a pantheist and not an atheist, and then you wonder why I follow up with questions?

Disingenuous baloney!

<Why are you so fascinated by my beliefs?>

You are lurking in my forum. I am not lurking in yours. The question is, why are you here?

But I know the answer. You are here to sow discord between me, <ohio> and <optimal> because you are evil, you love lies, hate the truth and reject God.

I push for an answer from you because I have no interest in idle chat with you. I'm here in my forum to talk about philosophy and religion and you know that. You invited yourself here, where these discussions are taking place, and wonder why you are included?

You have no interest in anything but causing trouble here, so I expose you for the ignorant, evil liar you are. You did it to yourself by being dishonest with all of your answers.

You represent the evil in the world. You give voice to it. I'm here to take up combat with the evil that you give voice to. You are a ventriloquist's puppet, mouthing the words of evil and lies. That's all.

There is no truth in you at all.

Jun-01-16  Colonel Mortimer: <Big Pawn: <Colonel Mortimer: Why am I compelled to reveal my personal beliefs?> Gee, I wonder. Why do you reveal your personal beliefs about America on the <rogoff> page all the time for the last 10 years?>

Those aren't beliefs, they are arguments based on credible evidence.

Jun-01-16  Big Pawn: You don't *have* to reveal what you think about those arguments and that "evidence".

<mort>, you are finished here.

Go away now.

Jun-01-16  Colonel Mortimer: <<Why do I have to give reasons why I'm more of a pantheist than an atheist?>

What is this word, "have"? You come to my forum, try to disrupt my conversation about the resurrection, mock Christianity, announce that you are a pantheist and not an atheist, and then you wonder why I follow up with questions?>

You've asked me a number of times to the point of obsession to explain my personal beliefs, this goes back months and it didn't just start on your forum recently as you pretend.
