Chessgames Bookie: We updated the scoreboard today after paying off the Topalov-Kamsky bets. Although a few chessbucks switched hands, the first 9 places of the leaderboard remain unchanged. The poorly defined Kamsky vs Topalov: Match Score bet was fine, as the favorite (Topalov wins 4.5 to 2.5) turned out to be the payoff.

Good luck with the rest of the championship leg. There are still plenty of chances to make your fortune with daily wagers on the Linares tournament.

Sneaky: <the first 9 places of the leaderboard remain unchanged> and 10th place Sneaky is booted into the basement. :-(
Feb-26-09  YouRang: Would this be a good time to start wagering for Chessgames Challenge: M Umansky vs The World, 2009 -- 6.?

At least a couple good choices: 6.Bg2 or 6.Ne5 :-)

Feb-28-09  technical draw: Well I have 3,150 cb's bet on today's propositions. I just checked the loanshark and he offered me 8,000 cb's. I might have to take that offer tomorrow if nothing pans out today.

Sorry <sneaky>, but save some room for me!

Feb-28-09  technical draw: Wait a minute <sneaky> what basement? You're in 20th place and you have 8,000+ cb's. It's time for some heavy, heavy betting. This is not the time to be squeamish, bet the max and let the dice roll!
Mar-02-09  NakoSonorense: <sneaky><There are two rules of betting on Ivanchuk:

1. Ivanchuk can beat anybody.
2. Anybody can beat Ivanchuk.>

There's actually a third rule of betting on Ivanchuk:

3. Ivanchuk can draw anybody.

Mar-03-09  brankat: <C.Bookie> Is there any particular reason for not having a "Pick-3" wager option for round 11 in Linares?
Mar-03-09  gus inn: <Chess.Bookie> IsnĀ“t there missing the option "Other" for betting on the first move Ivanchuk-Carlsen in todays game ?

Chessgames Bookie: <brankat> We substituted the two 'daily double' bets in place of the 'pick three' for variety.

<gus inn> That was inadvertently omitted. If none of the proposed choices is played, all tickets will be refunded.

Mar-05-09  whiteshark: <Chess.Bookie>

I'd like to bet for the winner of <FIDE Women Grand Prix>, starting tomorrow in Istanbul.

Players: --> http://istanbul2009.fide.com/tourna... (Note, Zhu Chen withdrew and is replaced by Martha Fierro)

Chessgames Bookie: <whiteshark> Wagering on that event has been added: FIDE Women Grand Prix Istanbul: Winner
Mar-05-09  whiteshark: Thanks for your prompt installation, <chessbookie>!
Mar-07-09  yxcvbnm: what about wagering on e.g. the first 7 bords of european championship? http://www.eurobudva2009.com/eng.htm
Mar-07-09  furrer: I just saw that I won my bet on Ivanchuk as the winner of the tournament "Linares". How does this come, didnt Grischuck win on tiebreaks? And if both the betters on Grish and Chucky get paid, how do you calculate how much?

Chessgames Bookie: <yxcvbnm> Yes, there will be wagering on the top boards of the European Championship. The propositions will appear shortly after the daily pairings are put up.

<furrer> The Linares bet stipulation stated that in case of a tie for first, all tickets on the tied players would be paid off. The total amount wagered on losing tickets (minus my juice) is distributed equally to the two winning tickets.

Mar-08-09  furrer: Thank you!
Mar-10-09  technical draw: Here is a picture of our chessbookie or loanshark:

Mar-10-09  Robin01: <Chessgames Bookie>When does this winter cycle end? Thanks.
Mar-11-09  Touch of Knight: <Robin01> My bet (1000 chessbucks) is it ends on March 26 when Amber ends.
Mar-11-09  Robin01: <Touch of Knight>You are probably right. Thanks.

Chessgames Bookie: Yes, the Championship Leg will end on March 26, at the conclusion of the Melody Amber Tournament.
Mar-13-09  malthrope: <ChessBookie> - when you get a chance you may want to correct the typo in this bet...

Grand Prix Istanbul: Rd 6: Estefanova vs Danielian

GM <Estefanova> - very creative! ;)

Also, in the - 10th European Individual Championship (2009) - today, March 13th, was a rest day (the only one, btw). You may want to extend the bets for 24 hours in round #8. One last in the - FIDE Women's Grand Prix (2009) - tourney they have one rest day left on March 16th. That should do it! :) - Mal

Mar-13-09  malthrope: Whoops! My turn for a typo... ;)

In the - FIDE Women's Grand Prix (2009) - tourney they do have only one rest day left but it's on Sunday - March 15th (not Monday - March 16th). Good thing I checked the final pairings one last time and that's where I caught it... :) - Mal

Chessgames Bookie: <malthrope> Thanks, noted and corrected.
Mar-13-09  brankat: <Chessgames Bookie> Will there be a round #7 Pick-3 bet-option for Women's Grand Prix event? There wasn't one in round #6. Thank You.
