moronovich: <wordfunph> But the distance from the gutter to the glimmer is just a few che§§bucks away ;)

Rule No 1 : stay on good terms with the loanshark..

Anyway, good luck and win/d to you !

Feb-28-10  wordfunph: <moronovich> thanks and good luck to your chase to <Barok Espinosa>. i'm happy languishing with my negative fellas..
Mar-01-10  Bradah: Chessbookie, I have 10k sitting on my account to play but can only wager a max 1000, what gives?

Chessgames Bookie: <notyetagm> Obviously, we couldn't put up those bets in time. <Bradah> That is the maximum amount that the software will let you wager.

eternaloptimist: switch reminds me of a yoyo. u check where he is in the standings 1 day, & he is near the bottom. then u check where he is a few days later, & he is in the top 40! it's truly incredible how quickly he can rebound!

moronovich: <Chessgames Bookie> Will there be any award for 2nd/3rd place in this leg ? And will the top ten list (this leg) be rewarded 10.ooo for next years championship ?
Mar-05-10  wordfunph: <moronovich> don't forget your Negative Club friends when you're in heaven...shower us with your chessbucks when the leg is over.. :-)

Chessgames Bookie: <wordfunph> Chnebelgrind is right, this year's bookie championship will end approximately around the end of the Amber tournament, March 25.

<moronovich> Yes, there will be 2nd and 3rd place prizes. The slate gets erased completely at the end of the championship leg, and everyone starts out the spring leg with 1,000 chessbucks.

Mar-06-10  wordfunph: <Chessgames Bookie: <wordfunph> Chnebelgrind is right, this year's bookie championship will end approximately around the end of the Amber tournament, March 25.>

thank you <Chessgames Bookie> for the confirmation.

good luck to all bookie addicts! we're now cruising the homestretch and i need more chessbucks from <loanshark> to have a chance of toppling <Barok Espinosa> <moronovich> <Sneaky>..

Mar-08-10  technical draw: So far today I'm out $1,000 cbs. I hate draws!
Mar-08-10  technical draw: Did I say $1,000? Just kidding. Make that $2,500.
Mar-08-10  dakgootje: Guess that makes me lucky having forgot about Chessbookie for a couple of days!
Mar-09-10  technical draw: So far today -410. Oh, why am I such a loser!?
Mar-10-10  wordfunph: <technical draw: So far today -410. Oh, why am I such a loser!?>

you're lucky to be in top 30...count your blessings <technical>.. :-)

Mar-10-10  technical draw: <wordfunph> Any spot below top ten is basically the same-zip. In fact ending in 11th place is the same as being last, you get nothing. At least a top ten finish seeds you into next years finals so that's what I'm aiming for. (but my aim is sooo far off!).
Mar-10-10  wordfunph: <technical> when you feel you're so far off from your target then time to have a look at the cellar and you will appreciate your #29 ranking is something to be thankful and feel blessed..

as the famous adage says, "it's not how you win games.....it's how you played and enjoyed the game."

<In fact ending in 11th place is the same as being last, you get nothing.>

sorry but i beg to disagree, would you mind if we swap places?...coz you get nothing being the #29th?

technical draw = $7,399 (29th place)
wordfunph = -$6,266 (397th place)

you must be thankful coz you belong in the top 8% while i enjoy being at the cellar at top 97%.. :-)

good luck to you and hope you hit the top 10 soon...then i will be the happiest bookie player.

Mar-10-10  technical draw: Thanks <wordfunph>, but I made a big mistake today and spread my bets too thin. In the next rounds I'm going to concentrate on just 2 or 3 propositions and bet heavy on them. We're nearing the "all-in" point.
Mar-10-10  wordfunph: nothing to lose on your part <technical>, if i will be in your shoes...i'd place huge suicidal no-more-tomorrow bets to make it in top ten coz Winter leg is about to end.

on my part, i will be happy to end in top 95%.. :-)

wish you more chessbucks in the remaining rounds <technical>..

good luck mate..

Mar-10-10  technical draw: Another tip: I took a $4,000 loan from the loanshark today. If I wait until I lose then I will be offered less and it will be harder to get back in. It is better to pay the interest and have the big bucks ready then wait until you're broke and can get only $200 from the mafia.
