Mar-21-10  dakgootje: hehehe I'm right on pace for like a 10k loss :P
Mar-21-10  Barok Espinosa: I hope tomorrow's gonna be a brighter day for me.
Mar-21-10  Bradah: Holy smokes, Chnebelgrind punched his accelerator, like a train, chugging along the high slopes of eternity, leaving everybody biting the dust, but can he sustain his momentum with 4 days left. We shall find out as there is 4 mountain top stages on this leg. Moro and Barok are still in sight, will they be able to stop the assault? King of the Kings, we shall find out.

Wordfunph, I have a broken pocket so I stopped betting days ago. See you all at the next round.

Mar-22-10  Bradah: Well, I changed my mind, I borrowed 800 from the shark and placed all on crazy bet on pick 3. Mission Impossible, blk blk blk. hehehe
Mar-22-10  gus inn: <Barok Espinoza> .....<74.960>.Incredible.Well done. Congratulations!.
Mar-22-10  wordfunph: the heat is on!!!!

<Barok Espinosa> is leading again whoaaa!

(1) Barok Espinosa 74,960
(2) Chnebelgrind 58,850
(3) moronovich 51,118

go <Barok>! fight <Chnebel> <moronovich>!

Mar-22-10  gus inn: <Barok Espinoza> but how did you do it if I may ask ?
Mar-22-10  wordfunph: hello <Barok Espinosa>..

maybe you could share to us (your fans..lol!) how you did it? you gained 26K+ overnight whoaaa..

Chnebelgrind: impressive counterattack <Barok> Congratulations. So it's on me to come up with something.
Mar-22-10  wordfunph: the ball is now in your hands <Chnebelgrind>..

good luck to all!

Mar-22-10  Bradah: We started today wishing it would be a show of force among the trio and we got what we asked for. From the base of the climb, Chnebelgrind, Barok, and Moro breaking out of the pack, showing signs of friendly rivalry, looking against each other shoulders like cat and mouse, played their own cards respectively. With incredible will power, Barok, summoned all his power, found his second wind, went for the gusto, and wham, reaching the summit first, my my my. That was a big lead. He now leads the trio with a wide margin. Will his overnight success continue for the next 3 days or can one of the top 10 do a miracle? We will find out.

Good luck guys, it's worth watching the outcome till the very end.:o)

Mar-22-10  Barok Espinosa: <wordfunph: hello <Barok Espinosa>..

maybe you could share to us (your fans..lol!) how you did it? you gained 26K+ overnight whoaaa..>

I betted a very big amount to Kramnik v Carlsen Rapid .I was in the brink of sliding down to 7th/8th place, but, lo and behold! Magnus the Great did the unthinkable, managing a draw in an inferior position against the Impailer by doing a Houdini act. I was saved...

Add to the fact the accumulated winnings from some other matches.

Just as I've said beforehand, "I'm ALL IN with my $21K for that round. I am just lucky with my kamikaze-style (do-or-die) of betting.

Mar-22-10  technical draw: I'm all in for the last round. If I win all my bets I hit 32,000. Enough for a top ten finish. If not I'll owe the loanshark 5,000. Ha! Try and find me!

Very well done, man. You are now very, very close to the title....And a well deserved place as a recordbreaker.

And for the runnerupgroup ?
We now know why it is called a bookiegame.Because we can win a book ;)

Mar-23-10  wordfunph: <eternaloptimist: wow! Barok Espinosa has almost 75,000 chess$! that's got to be a record.>

all-time record breaking feat by <Barok Espinosa> whoaaa! more chessbucks <Barok..>!

Chessgames Bookie: The final bets of the chessbookie competition's championship leg will be on March 25. Good luck to everyone!
Mar-24-10  wordfunph: thanks <Chessgames Bookie>, my max $500 loan was ALL IN in Pick 3... <loanshark> is not too friendly to cellar-dweller like me huh!

from $74,960, <Barok Espinosa> pads his lead to $79,153...lucky guy!

$17k separating <Barok...> and <Chnebelgrind>, a herculian task for <Chnebel..> to overcome <Barok...>'s lead.

go <Barok>! <Chnebel>! <moro>!

Mar-24-10  wordfunph: <Chessgames Bookie: On prizes for bookie competition. The top 5 will win a prize. Traditionally first prize is worth more than the other prizes. Good luck to all!>

<CG Bookie>, may we know the prizes please?

Mar-24-10  technical draw: Ha, the loanshark was dumb enough to offer me a 1,000 cb loan. I ripped his arm off grabbing the money!

moronovich: A sure sign of gambling addiction.
And the shark knows that ;)
Mar-24-10  technical draw: Yipes! I have to get up before 6:00 am to get the final odds and go all in. Ok, I'm a gambling man I'll set the clock.
Mar-25-10  Barok Espinosa: Ok, this is it! Good luck to ALL!

The best Leg ever, if I may say.
