Chessgames Bookie: We've started the season off a mix-up:

I had seen a list of the top 10 seeds of the European Club Cup, and foolishly entered them in as the only choices for the wager European Chess Club Cup: WINNER.

But I should have realized, it's a team championship and these players are not necessarily competing against one another.

I considered that I might use each player's individual results as a score to preserve the spirit of the wager. That is severely flawed for several reasons, not the least of which is that not all players have played the same numeber of games.

I'm sorry to say that we may have to begin the leg with a refund of a wager, but I don't see any other way to salvage this bet. My apologies.

  moronovich: To the <Chessboookie> !

Here is an idea for the big match,Anand-Carlsen,comming up.Most likely the most hyped event in the history of CG.

Pick 3 normally takes more than one game, but we could make 3 units :

1.White-Draw-Black (as usual)

2.First move : A e4 B d4 C Any other.

3.Lenght of the game :

A up till 35 B 36 - 46 C 47+

in this way it could IMO work like bussiness as usual.

And if this is too difficult to set up, then :

"The Double" is a possibility.Simply wagering on the result of the first day and on the second day, combined . (the match goes 2 games followed by one rest day).

The interest gonna be huge about this event and I do hope you will give the above your considerations !

All the best , <moronovich> . your thoughts.

Nov-03-13  bubuli55: With the WCC coming up in a few days, some 50 users haven't wagered on the lone bet - championship winner.

Carlsen is the overwhelming favorite. Anand 27-10 to win.

Place your bets, ladies and gentlemen. :)

Nov-04-13  Whitehat1963: How about some more bets on the championship match?

- High/low on number of moves in each game
- Number of draws in the match
- First game result
- First game opening
- Most frequent opening used in the match
- Who will win with black first?

There are all kinds of possibilities!

  Chessgames Bookie: <Important Announcement>

Chessgames has a new sponsor, chessbet.com, which is a site where you can made predictions on the Anand-Carlsen match and win really great chess prizes. (Sound familiar?)

In short, it's a LOT like ChessBookie, except that their prizes are more impressive. :)

Normally I wouldn't put up with somebody else muscling in on my territory, but I've been told from the big guy that we should treat these guys like family. Plus, I'll be over there myself playing to get new ideas for my own operation.

So the next time you're on the CG homepage do click on their banner, and good luck.

Nov-07-13  dakgootje: Sounds interesting - shame that site won't last long though.

As soon as Switch gets air of it.. ;)
