| May-23-15 | | WinKing: Thank you master 'Bookie'. I had scores of 91-89, 92-90 & 91-88. I figured one of em' was right. ;) After counting 8 rounds my mind was shot. |
May-24-15
 | | Penguincw: Damn it, why do I keep losing money? I haven't had a winning round in about a week, and even though I "only" lost 800 cbs, I've fallen like 15 positions. :( At least Jakovenko's blunder saved me. |
May-24-15
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: You should try <Penguincw>'s strategy: small profits at a time. I heard he was making steady winnings with barely any losing rounds at all. |
May-24-15
 | | Penguincw: I have to admit, that's a good reply. |
May-24-15
 | | WannaBe: Goooooo Bunny Wabbit Special. =) |
| May-25-15 | | WinKing: <Penguincw: I have to admit, that's a good reply.> Don't you just hate it when Santa Claus gets sarcastic...lol. |
May-25-15
 | | Penguincw: Yeah, but at least I'm back on my feet: just won back 127 cbs. |
| May-26-15 | | wallytherhino: Round 11 of Khanty-Mansiysk has some shallow data:
Tomashevsky v. Vachier-Lagrave (2 games on record)
Nakamura v. Jakovenko (1 game on record)
Dominguez v. Grischuk (10 classical games on record, but the bookie split the draw bet.) Round 11 is definitely a rough prediction for the top tables. |
| May-26-15 | | DAVID4014: I want my real cash payout, why was the money divided for the grand prix winners. |
May-26-15
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <DAVID4014> As noted in the rules to FIDE Grand Prix Khanty-Mansiysk: WINNER: <If two or more players tie for first place on points, all of them will be considered winners.> Since three players - Nakamura, Caruana and Jakovenko - tied for first at 6.5/11, all tickets on those three players paid. With multiple winners, payouts are always reduced from what they would have been with only one winner; if they weren't, the Bookie would make a large loss (about c$11,000, in this case) as the players' total winnings would exceed their total losses by a considerable margin. Exactly how the payouts are computed with more than one winner is explained in this post: Chessgames Bookie chessforum (kibitz #4844). |

May-30-15
 | | Penguincw: Hmm, been pretty quiet on this forum recently.
Anyway, I only placed one bet today, but it won:
Iasi rd 2: TOP SIX SPECIAL : 6.0 [cash in ticket] 25 YOU WIN! COLLECT 81 9:4 3.26 81 May-30-15 Unfortunately, when I placed the bet, the odds were 18:1! I guess people caught on... |

 | | Sneaky: Haven't played in a few days, got back to see <Chinese Ch rd 11: Yu Yangyi (2723) - Zhao Jun (2613) : Zhao Jun [cash in ticket] 25 YOU WIN! COLLECT 796> CA CHING! |
| Jun-02-15 | | centralfiles: can we have a white vs black for next round iasi?
I like the kind of bets where its clear that odds are close to 50/50 so its possible to place a big bet early on and have a decent chance of the odds catching up. |

| Jun-02-15 | | wallytherhino: I am very excited for these pairings. The tournament is in the stabilization phase. Kovalenko (2650) - Kuzubov (2650)
Kovalenko (4 points) - Kuzubov (4.5 points)
Both players had soft touches up to this point. Neither man has the power or gumption to power past each other. Esen (2563) - Sengupta (2571)
Esen (4.5 Points) - Sengupta (4.5 Points)
Esen (Performance Rating:2671) - Sengupta (Performance Rating:2736)
Both have pivotal games on their way to 4.5 points. The slight edge goes to Sengupta because he beat GM Onischuk Vladimir. The conclusion here is another GM draw fest. This game will determine the feel and the pace of the tournament, should they draw (the most likely outcome) you have a clutter position and true race for first. |
| Jun-03-15 | | centralfiles: Im down and out |
Jun-03-15
 | | Penguincw: I'd like to thank <wallytherhino> for helping me with the Kovalenko-Kuzubov bet. Even though I didn't win much, I still gained money today. :) Say, any advice for these R7 bets? |
| Jun-04-15 | | MarkFinan: That 'Most games' bet is pretty good. Round 5 had black winning the most games and round 6 had something like 22 wins for white and 22 draws, so it's a tricky bet. Someone already in the top 20 (it's pretty close this leg) is either going to be clear first and out of sight or in the cellar. When I was using my plan A blueprint I may have had a 1000 on white wins, but plan B's kicked in and plan B isn't as stupid and reckless Plan A. Lol. |
| Jun-04-15 | | centralfiles: keep em comin' bookie! |
| Jun-04-15 | | MarkFinan: Fiddy.. One day I'll give you my blueprint (FOR FREE!!!!!). Plan A would've probably been better for me than plan B was today though, lol. That was a good bet today, even putting 1500 on 2 of the 3 waging options would have paid something out. I'm just glad employees of Paddy Power looked at me like I'm retarded for asking if they accept bets on chess games. It happens all the time, lol. |
| Jun-05-15 | | MarkFinan: Would someone be so kind as to tell me when this leg ends please? I'm about to reach for the chessbookie stars but won't just yet if this leg has a few weeks or so to go. Tia |
Jun-05-15
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <MarkFinan> Exactly when the Spring Leg will end has not been decided yet, but it will likely be around July 5. |
| Jun-05-15 | | MarkFinan: Okay thank you. I missed putting anything too risky on anyway, probably for the best just now no matter what the reward. I have a month to plan and execute the timely demises of Chnebly and the rest. |
| Jun-05-15 | | centralfiles: <markfinan> don't count me out yet I'm planning on coming back eventually. |
