Penguincw: Are you kidding me?! I was going to have bets for the Abu Dhabi tournament, since there's a Rest Day tomorrow at Sinquefield. However, that tournament is <also> having a Rest Day tomorrow. :| Of course, this Rest Day is necessary since on Tuesday, there were 2 games played in the same round (so pointless).

I'll have to go to Plan B then.

btw, have you and Syd set a wedding date yet? Your devotion to each other is really touching.

Errrmm. When did you qualify for the championship leg??! I'm there buddy, this is the leg where I can play dangerously. I already crushed you like a bug, you just haven't realised yet. LOL.

<btw, have you and Syd set a wedding date yet? Your devotion to each other is really touching.>

Looks like someone needs to get out of the kitchen. Syd-B is a fine man, don't hate. Lol.

WannaBe: Today's round 5 betting, I'll either crash and/or burn. Possibly both.

Many of us are in this boat.

All or nothing.

I even made a $13 bet.

FSR: Assuming that Caruana wins, I'll pocket over c$2,500 between my bet on him and on the Pick Three. Go Caruana!

Penguincw: Hey guys. I know there are a lot of esteemed players out there who would really hate to see tomorrow being a Rest Day in the ChessBookie game as well, so I'm putting up one computer vs. computer bet: TCEC Season 8 Stage 1a: Jonny - Fire.

I'm not going to lie though, it is like impossible to predict what time the game will begin. I don't even know what time zone the site is on. :p

So I'm setting it at 9:00 am <cg> time. I don't really care who wins, I'm just trying to figure out an unknown start time. If the game starts before that, I don't know what to do.

In other news, Sinquefield Cup Rd 4-6: Pick Three is currently "Black-White-?". Do you have the first 2 games and are waiting for the 3rd game? Well too bad, because you have to wait an extra day! :p

FSR: An incredible day, thanks principally to the c$1,607 I won on Caruana, c$910 on the Pick Three, and c$485 on the Daily Double. Easily my best day ever thus far.
Aug-27-15  sydbarrett: Don't get too happy. I hit both the pick three and the Caruana jackpot as well. You're not a special snowflake Fred. In fact you are nothing. I have great winning days every day. Now go to sleep unhappy knowing this. Thank you.

FSR: Syd, has anyone ever told you that you're a dick?
Aug-27-15  sydbarrett: Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. Are you sure you are ready for tomorrow's battle, Fred... Much pain there will be

Right now it seems likely that exactly that will happen, though you might get lucky yet. I think TCEC currently observes UTC+2, which is six hours ahead of Chessgames.

Wow, I actually did come damn close. Currently, it's 18 minutes after 9, and 2 moves have been made. Close enough!

I'm not sure what I would've done if the game started earlier. In fact, I just had this dream where the Sinquefield Cup Round 6 was <today>, and the games had started super early in the morning. I tried making a post asking what time the game started, but then that alarm clock...

< FSR: Syd plagiarized it from Yoda. >

So <Mark>, that quote "Sometimes fools win battles, generals win wars!" is still yours, right? :)

Aug-28-15  MarkFinan: Don't involve me in this, I'm just laughing my ass off because Fred accused Syd of plagiarizing Yoda LOL 😂😂😂 Too funny.

Penguincw: Wow, Jonny held Fire to a draw: TCEC Season 8 Stage 1a: Jonny - Fire.

This bet ended mere minutes before the leaderboard update, so the leaderboard is updated. :)

I also see this bet closed just 1:27 before the actual start time. Believe it or not, that's more than the Sinquefield Cup (I usually set it around 3:16).

Penguincw: < Total number of contestants: 201 >

Woo hoo! 200 contestants. That number has basically doubled in the last 2 weeks. Every user-bookie to date has hit at least 200 contestants (well one of them had 199).

<That number has basically doubled in the last 2 weeks.> As cool as that is, perhaps CG would do well to double-check these new signups and make sure it's not shenanigans. I don't see any new faces in the forum...

<Mark>, are you keeping track of any suspicious users? ;)

Uh, I think <cg> does a check at the end of every leg, so it shouldn't be a problem. But I guess it can't hurt to do one now.

I heard the state of Florida could soon face a tropical storm. I heard this site doesn't encounter any problems...

I think this site has had enough tropical Florida storms, don't you think?
