Oct-06-15  sydbarrett: I was looking at that chess magazine ad on the front page with an older looking Magnus on it, and I thought the name of the magazine was New InchesS... hahaha
Oct-06-15  MarkFinan: I never realised it was Syd-B's first go! He's taken over Darth Chebly as the 2nd sith lord, lol. Remember.. Only two Sith's can coexist. I'm gonna win the next leg, I aren't playing around no more I want Switch's spot. Btw Switch.. What was your biggest winning ticket? And how do you do it time after time!?

SwitchingQuylthulg: <MarkFinan: Btw Switch.. What was your biggest winning ticket?>

That was my Karjakin ticket from game 4...

<World Cup R7,G4: Karjakin - Svidler : Karjakin [cash in ticket] 7885 YOU WIN! COLLECT 26637 5:2 3.38 26,637 Oct-04-15>

:)

Oct-06-15  MarkFinan: Wow! My biggest win was 8k. I need to go back and read what you typed out for me in your forum about a year ago, you broke it down well but I never applied your tips to my bets. I'm gonna have another read before we start the next leg.

Penguincw: < Wow! My biggest win was 8k. >

My biggest win was probably 1,500 cbs, but it was off a 1000 cbs bet, meaning I took a risk in the first place.

Now everytime I paid off a bet, I get to see all the bets placed on an event, along with the amount, ticket ID and selection (and if it won, the payout).

I didn't keep an official record or anything, but I recall a 26K winner, off a 10K bet (probably <Switch>'s as well).

The largest loss, as you can imagine, was 10K. I kinda felt sorry for those bettors...

Oct-06-15  sydbarrett: I don't mean to brag... who am I kidding I'll gladly brag. I got 4-7 $8000+ winning tickets this season. I lost count, no lie. As proof, the winning ticket shows two old rich guys looking deliciously at a pile of green. One looks like Orson Welles, the other like Warren Buffet.
Oct-06-15  sydbarrett: I'd sure like to bet on something and forget about those pathetic yankees

Penguincw: < sydbarrett: I'd sure like to bet on something and forget about those pathetic yankees > Good, the Yankees are out. I hope the Royals and Rangers, and even Astros (and the all the NL teams) follow suite.

But just out of curiousity, were you around in early July when I did the preseason? I had a bunch of baseball bets out.

I believe one bet was predicting 2 games. And of course, <Switch> proved to be good at betting on not just chess, but also <baseball>, because no one backed the Cubs.

Oh, and I'm just noticing this:

< Jul-06-15 WannaBe: <Penguincw> If I don't win the next leg, I'm gonna go to Toronto and break <YOUR> leg! =) >

Yo, come at me bro! ;)

Oct-07-15  sydbarrett: I don't remember what my entry point was. My first bet was on some Wei Yi game. He was playing black vs some not-too-famous Russian GM who was rated 2600-2720. $200 bet and I won $800. That was exciting, and I realized I stumbled upon a season-long fantasy sports type of thing, so I decided to play on. I honestly might not have played on if that bet failed, lol. But to the joy of many here, I got hooked and stayed!

I must have joined the season a bit late because I don't remember a beisbol bet. Maybe there was one right after the Wei game, but I didn't pay too much attention to it because I didn't bet on daily basis until after that Wei win.

I'll root for the Mets now. It's blasphemous to do so for some Yankee fans, but I'm a New York sports fan in general, and the Mets are young and very talented.

Oct-07-15  sydbarrett: (I got a 10+ year history of doing fantasy baseball, by the way. 1998-2010. Yeah baseball is my main/only sport of true fandom, and the Yankees are my team.

Betting on chess seemed corny at first compared to sports, hahaha, but it now seems perfectly natural to me.)

Oct-07-15  sydbarrett: Oh so you're a Jays fan. That's the one team in the post-season I don't like. Thumbs down. Whoa
Oct-07-15  sydbarrett: I didn't bet on a daily basis until a *week after* the Wei bet, I meant to say. I wish there was an easier way to edit posts. But I guess this style prevents fudging with historic posts and I'm down with it
Oct-07-15  paulvankerkhof: Let's play!!!

So you're a Yankees fan. That's one team the 29 other teams don't like.

Well, see you next season. :)

Oct-07-15  sydbarrett: Yankees are a few years away and a big signing or two (Trout? Harper? both are Yankee fans) from a crown. I like Bird a lot and Severing. We'll be back soon.
Oct-07-15  sydbarrett: Severino* both are very young and very talented. Yankees haven't had something like that in ages.
