Jan-15-17  sydbarrett: Omg, I just accidentally typed 3064 instead of 64 for a bet that was a hedge, i.e. a bet on an outcome that I don't believe in in the first place. lol. Oh dearie me. Don't say I didn't give you all a handicap. Ha... ><
Jan-16-17  Boomie: <sydbarrett> Ouch. That wasn't just a hedge. That was a bocage.

WannaBe: Sumthin' wrong with my screen, I have all these "Discard Ticket"s on my page... Ugh!
Jan-17-17  scout118: So won as black vs van Wely. Let's get this right!
Jan-17-17
Premium Chessgames Member
  Annie K.: Let's get this right, <please>.

<scout118> you are either going to start exhibiting manners here, or you will not be posting here. I see no reason to put up with your rudeness even one more time. Clear?

Jan-17-17  Kynas: So really won against van Wely. Why discard ticket?
Jan-17-17  scout118: Let's fix this please. Sorry to get on your nerves but So was clearly winning and you should have held off and waited for the live broadcast - which is right now. Thanks.

beatgiant: Is it just me, or is the betting on Cheparinov - Topalov broken?
Jan-29-17  WinKing: Hi <Annie K.>. There is no betting box with the names in it for the:

Tradewise Gibraltar Round 7: Cheparinov - Topalov bet.

Annie K.: Oops - there was a typo that prevented the automatic lines from being created. Fixed now, thanks. :)

offramp: <Bishopbandit> is doing amazingly well. I don't think I have ever seen such a colossal lead - except in the penultimate round of Jeopardy.

offramp: I was wondering if you might like the idea of a new distribution of money before each major event.

For example, someone might have blown his wedge at Tata and now finds that he has c$75 for the whole of the Women's World Championship. A most disconsolate state of affairs.

Feb-09-17  technical draw: The loanshark is not a very nice guy. I think I'll take my business elsewhere. I hear Rico Tarantino is setting up shop somewhere in Brooklyn. Maybe I can get a loan before he's wasted.
Feb-12-17  sydbarrett: Loanshark is a cool dude. I was down to ~$200-ish just 2-3 weeks ago, believe it or not, but thanks to him I am back to a healthy $12k. Then again the extra leverage he gave me put me in the hole in the first place
Feb-14-17  Beholder: Can't really follow the Women's Championship all that close due to being busy yet I've noticed that Wiki

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women...

has Guramishvili going through to the 2nd stage while our bookie in the Pick Three has her opponent, Khademalsharieh.

So which one was it?

Feb-14-17
Premium Chessgames Member
moronovich: And I had Guramishvili/Buksa/Melia/Atalik in pick 3,which seems to be the right combination.

Annie K.: Hmm, Wiki had Khadem as the winner yesterday... Ok, we'll fix this shortly.

Chessgames Bookie: <♔ ChessBookie Pay Day Announcement! ♔>

Pay Day will be on the 25th of February: 1000 chessbucks will be added to every <active> Bookie player's account.

New/inactive players, make sure to place at least one bet before that date, if you want to be included in the payout!

Feb-25-17  Boomie: Doing a search on names produced this oddity - D Swiercz vs S L Narayanan, 2017. They are scheduled to play in the next round. They didn't play last year. The game is mislabeled somehow.
Feb-25-17
Premium Chessgames Member
Annie K.: No mistake. :) Swiercz played Sunilduth Lyna Narayanan in Round 4 of this year's Aeroflot. His upcoming Round 6 game is against Narayanan Srinath.

Feb-25-17  Boomie: <Annie K.: No mistake. :)> Heh. Oops.
Mar-03-17  sydbarrett: Oooh the next update should be interesting... I have $1,000s and $1000s placed on three separate bets, all predicated on Tan winning, and they were quite queasy bets, because Tan clearly is an underdog, not being a GM and all like Anna Muzychuk is. Money, come to papa

Chessgames Bookie: The Women's Championship bets are paid off now - a delay was caused by our learning that the tiebreak games started 2 hours earlier than scheduled, so we first needed to check if there were any late bets placed. Very happy to report that it turns out nobody tried to pull any funny stuff. ;)

Congratulations to the winners, and see you all in time for the last event of the leg, the US Championships!
