Jul-08-06  percyblakeney: <If anybody can read this website>

It doesn't seem to have any pairing information...

Jul-10-06  blingice: Wow, a ton of betting is going on THIS week...

Chessgames Bookie: Betting is open on the top two boards of round 6 from the premier section of the Norwegian Championchips.

Norwegian Championship Rd 6: Sahl vs Carlsen
Norwegian Championship Rd 6: Tallaksen vs Agdestein
.

Jul-12-06  pinto123: <Wow, a ton of betting is going on THIS week...> No kidding. 18,294 chessbucks on the Carlsen-Sahl game alone!

Sneaky: Some people are going to be really disappointed to discover that Magnus is capable of drawing a game with Black, even against a "mere" FIDE master...
Jul-12-06  TIMER: <Sneaky> One expects strong grandmasters to beat FIDE masters with both colours. However I expected to be crushed by grandmasters with both colours until I outplayed one and realised that they are not infallible.
Jul-12-06  cavaleiro: Well, a tongue was burned today. Magnus won with the black pieces.
Jul-12-06  SNiraj: <Chessgames Bookie> Can we have more than the top 2 boards please? With Magnus around, you hardly get any returns on your wager ...
Jul-12-06  percyblakeney: As for more betting options, Biel starts in less than two weeks with this impressive field:

http://www.bielchessfestival.ch/gra...

Jul-12-06  SNiraj: <percyblakeney> looks good! Magnus playing again ... I wonder how much gas he will have in his tank ...
Jul-13-06  rustamrocks: <percyblakeney> There is Dortmund as well which starts on 29th July and has Kramnik, Svidler and Aronian among other super GMs.
Jul-13-06  percyblakeney: Yep, Dortmund isn't bad either... Some nice chess coming up soon.
Jul-13-06  blingice: Wow, those are some great odds on Carlsen...
Jul-14-06  percyblakeney: Time to start betting again, 1000 each on Johannessen and Agdestein in today's round. The rating difference in their games is the same as if Kramnik played Lahno, and they both have white. Should be fairly safe bets, but that is usually the last thing one should say...
Jul-14-06  rustamrocks: <Chessgames Bookie> Nice to see you have included the Ladies section in the Biel betting. Well done, Sir!
Jul-14-06  percyblakeney: <Should be fairly safe bets, but that is usually the last thing one should say...>

Yep :-)

Jul-14-06  DrawMeister: <percyblakeney> What is your advice for the last round wagers? Most players usually land up drawing as the placings are already more or less decided isn't it?
Jul-14-06  percyblakeney: <DrawMeister> My advice is not to listen to my advice, I've no idea what will happen...
Jul-15-06  samsal27: <Chessgames Bookie> Are we going to have betting on the Politiken Cup where Short, Negi and others will be playing?

Sneaky: <TIMER> Oh, how the mighty have fallen!
Jul-15-06  TIMER: <Sneaky> I lost over 10000 in 2 days, and am still in the top ten. I can get it back soon enough with a bit of luck.
Jul-15-06  Katrina: <Sneaky> Rubbing salt in the wounds?
Jul-15-06  soughzin: hmm, I bet carlson to win for 200 dollars, and it says I've won and received 217 dollars. At 1.38 decimal odds shouldn't I get about 276? Just wondering, it's not like I'm going to get in the top ten anyway lol

Chessgames Bookie: <soughzin> The odds of 1.38 is what you would receive had Carlsen been the only person to finish 1st. However, Agdestein was tied with him, so we have extra tickets to pay off. Therefore the odds you end up receiving are less than 1.38.

Regarding the <Will Carlsen Win?> ticket: it looks as if we will have to wait for the playoff match before we can settle those tickets. No news at this time when those playoffs will occur.
