  WannaBe: ♔ Handi Capper's Corner!! ♔

9nd round

Magnus Carlsen - Teimour Radjabov: Carlsen is +1 -2 =6 against Radjabov (Discounting a blitz, a blindfold, and a rapid game) when Carlsen have white, he is +1 -1 =4 against Radjabov.

Bu Xianghzi - Loek Van Wely: They met once, at the 2005 Aeroflot Open, where Bu had white, and the game was a draw after 11 moves.

Judit Polgar - Yannick Pelletier: Their first OTB encounter.

Boris Avrukh - Alexander Grischuk: They are tied at +0 -0 =2, both players have had different colours.

Alexander Motylev - Alexander Onischuk: Their first OTB encounter.

Aug-01-07  mikejaqua: On two occasions now I have tried to make a 10 chessbuck wager. Both times I got stuck with a 100 chessbuck wager. I did check very carefully the second time to be sure of what I'd wagered. It still forced the 100 on me.

Sneaky: I hit the pick-3 with 146:1 odds!!! Wooo hooo!!! See ya at the finish line... vrrroooom vrrrroooom
Aug-01-07  technical draw: You guys won't believe this but since I play to lose I placed all my chess bucks on the Pelletier/Carlsen game on Pelletier figuring Magnus will chew him up. But I accidently hit Carlsen to win and I was mad cause I was sure I was going to win and up my net worth. SO what happens, the Impossible! Magnus loses and so do I! Am I great or What?
Aug-01-07  technical draw: Way to go <Sneaky>!! Up there in third place but very close to first, ya got potential!

lostemperor: <TD, Sneaky> you guys are incredible and I am incredible stupid for forgetting white/draw/white my three choices in the separate results.

Stonehenge: <Bookie> I think I have 6003 chessbucks and not 9222 as can be seen on the Leaderboard.

Stonehenge: <Bookie> I made my bets when the leaderboard was being recomputed, so I guess that was the problem.
Aug-03-07  Bob726: Rd 5: Rowson vs Barrett

Odds for Rowson winning are 1:33!!!!!!

Aug-06-07  technical draw: <Stonehenge: <Bookie> I think I have 6003 chessbucks and not 9222 as can be seen on the Leaderboard.>

Oh, Stonehenge, Stonehenge. Rule number one of gambling. The golden rule: If someone makes a mistake in your favor you keep your trap shut!

This chessbookie game is not for wimps and Johnny do-gooders. You might feel generous now that you are in the lead but when you are tap city the chess bookie will bust your knees for 10 chessbucks. So learn some street smarts and congrats on being first. (only because I play for last).

Aug-07-07  zanshin: <stonehenge> Although <td> makes an interesting argument, I have to admire your honesty;-)

<td> Interesting strategy you have ... sort of like Giveaway Chess with chessbucks?!

Aug-09-07  technical draw: Someone is making dumb 1,000 bets on super odds on. Bet 1,000 to win 70. I don't know who it is. Hello Sneaky.
Aug-09-07  technical draw: OK, Chessbookie. What's going on? There were a lot of $1,000 bets on individual games and now they are gone. If this is a crooked game I'm outta here now!
Aug-10-07  Tomlinsky: ChessBookie, you're stalling my rare winning streak! Stump up or there will be trouble!!
Aug-10-07  Tomlinsky: What's going on? I can't pay you back or place a bet until you settle. Bookies, can't trust 'em. :O)
Aug-10-07  technical draw: Somethings going on with the chessbookie. Maybe the Feds raided the place. I know I got ripped off with fake $1,000 bets.

Chessgames Bookie: Sorry about the delay, folks. We're paying off tickets right now.
Aug-12-07  technical draw: Not only am I dead last here but those that I pick to win a tournament are also dead last! I picked Houska to win the Staunton and he's in the cellar just like me. I have the finger of death. Whoever I point to drops dead (dead last that is).

Sneaky: I have to hand it to Davolni. He's in the #1 position and he doesn't slow down--he keeps making bets, and wins those bets, too.
Aug-13-07  whiteshark: <Chessgames Bookie>: I would like to bet on GMT's 3rd move, which is due in three days:

<3... e6>,
<3... g6>,
<3... c6>,
<3... d6>,
<3... others>

Sneaky: I've loaded up with longshots! I want something WEIRD to happen in Staunton round 7.

I want to see Adams lose.

I want to see Wells win.

I want my pick-3 to come up with two or three draws in one of the least drawing tourneys we've seen in a long time.

Let's go longshots!!! I just need one good longshot to make up for a fistful of losing tickets.

Sneaky: <Chessgames Bookie> I'm with whiteshark ... I'd like to bet on that too!
Aug-15-07  technical draw: I got a new message from the chessbookie:

" Well, if it isn't the nickel and dimer! Come to grovel for chump change?"

I'm humiliated.

Aug-15-07  malthrope: <technical draw: I got a new message from the chessbookie:

"Well, if it isn't the nickel and dimer! Come to grovel for chump change?">

That's a real talent you've got there <TD> ! ;-)

I must have made a mistake and just won on 'Pick Three' (Rd #8) with 'Draw-Black-White.' To make matters worse I bet $200 on Speelman to draw with an additional $60 on Timman to win... Goodness hope Chessgames Bookie settles up soon so I can bet, I mean attempt to lose some more! :-) - Mal
