  jessicafischerqueen: IMPORTANT-

THIS FORUM IS NOW FREE FOR ALL TO USE WHO WANT TO DISCUSS <My 61 Memorable Games>.

I'll start you all off:

<This book is an umitigated fraud>!

<No it isn't!>

<Yes it is!>

etc.

Feel free to add your points here.

No post will be censored.

Apr-12-09  NakoSonorense: It's fake. Next topic, please. xD

chancho: It's fake like a mofo! And Trice is a grade @#$%*@!!

jessicafischerqueen: I think it's obviously fake.

Then again, I get a daily serving of <Ed Labate> emails proving it is fake.

I agree that he seems to be a very reliable source, given his past history in the <chess book trade>.

I'd take <Tal> over <Mr. Trice> as a judge of <Mr. Labate's> competency any day.

jessicafischerqueen: Hi <Nako>! How the heck are you?
Apr-12-09  blacksburg: for what it's worth, i bought a book from Labate on amazon.com, and it arrived promptly and in good condition, and it was real, and i didn't have to meet him in a parking lot or alley.

  jessicafischerqueen: hahahahah

Hi <blacksburg>!!

Great to see you joining in on the discussion here.

Now you know if we can convince <Mr. Trice> and <Mr. Joshka> and <Mr. IM Day> to take it over here then we can argue about the book AND talk about <Bobby Fischer> on his own freaking game page.

Oh well either way really I guess.

BTW I'm very glad you joined in on our <PC> discussion. I found your points to be illustrative.

Convincing as well.

Also, exceedingly humorous.

Apr-12-09  NakoSonorense: hey jess... im good thanks ... how the keck are you???????? me and friends just got pepper sprayed out of a party.. so i'm here.. the book is fake and im day and twice and trice are nonsense!

bye now

  jessicafischerqueen: I'm good thanks <Nako>

Heh...

When you guys arrived at the party, did you say

"Well I guess it'll take the cops to get us out of here now..."

I find that's usually a good ice-breaker.

chancho: I posted this on the Fischer page a while back.

chancho: <hackmate> was the first who talked about getting his copy (M61MG) on Dec 20, 2008. <Joshka> asked for his e-mail address and asked him questions about the book.

Then:

Jan-14-09

<Joshka to hackmate>: <My copy has finally arrived. I'm almost speechless. Hack's comments are valid. The book is indeed real, impressive, well put together, <<<some photos never seen before>>>, pure Fischer for sure. Fischer makes numerous correction's from "My 60", thus, this is the definitive corrected copy from Fischer's own hands, in easy to read figurine alegebraic notation. A gem to behold!>

About 9 months earlier:

Mar-19-08
Robert James Fischer

<Joshka: <Fedalio Yes, just received my copy (NIC) yesterday, and wow, what a great issue, <<<with lots of new photos I have never seen before.>>> Great articles and most of the issue is dedicated to Bobby. Well Ed Trice I believe you told me you caught a bad cold the first time you went to see him and of course a meeting with Bobby was not possible. Was your meeting him at the Hotel Borg conducted in September during your second trip? This is where the final photo was taken I believe. I also read on some blog, that Harry Sneider, Bobby's long time friend from the World Wide Church of God days will be doing a book on him. Still cannot find Rene Chun anymore. I recall he had a deal with Viking to do a complete bio on Bobby from the "cradle" and on.....but if you folks don't subscribe to "New In Chess" I highly suggest you doing so! Thank you "New In Chess" for doing a splendid job with your Fischer Issue.>

What can we gather from the above two posts? For one thing, some of the "never before seen photos" appeared on the New In Chess, March 2008 issue. (Einar Einarsson photos) And good ol <Joshka> saw them BEFORE the M61MG book first appeared. It's possible the hoax book was printed in late Nov, or early Dec of 2008.(around the time <hackmate> said he got his copy) Before that, no one claimed to have a copy.

I've asked Towell aka <Joshka> about his e-mails to Labate many times and he avoids answering or refuting them. Unlike Trice, who can lie with the same proficiency as a fish squeezing water thru it's gills, It seems he has a conscience.

jessicafischerqueen: Wow <Canonyero> that's damning evidence.

And hard evidence as well, due to the chronology.

Creepy, eh?

I've seen tons of <Joshka> emails to <Mr. Labate> because <Ed> keeps forwarding them to me.

Apr-12-09  whiteshark: I didn't know that G Gasparov has written so many books on his prep... prod...predi... predecessors (difficult word).

chancho: <Jess>: Check the back cover of the book:

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_538-FFQ4e...

It says it's packed with <unpublished photos>, but Joshka says: <<<some photos never seen before>>> In other words, he KNEW those photos had appeared in New In Chess March 2008 issue.

Apr-12-09  NakoSonorense: <Well I guess it'll take the cops to get us out of here now..."> whoa... that's a good line... i'm a use it next time and i'm a be so popular!

thanks, jess! go korea!

chancho: Get a load at this:

http://web.archive.org/web/20060713...

The link is courtesy of <MageofMaple>. He said this was an earlier scam of Trice's where he tries to entice young students into forking over some money to play in a tournament with a paid scholarship as the price. No tournament was held, and Trice ran this ad a few times.

  jessicafischerqueen: <Canyonero>

He would seem to be engaged in all manner of evil.

Question: If he is banned from the <Fischer page>, why don't they just ban him from the site altogether?

Also, were the <Wikipedia adminstrators> the ones who gutted the <Gothic Chess> entry?

Apr-12-09  blacksburg: <Question: If he is banned from the <Fischer page>, why don't they just ban him from the site altogether?>

he has an avatar (a fat bald guy), so that means he must have <paid> for a premium membership. i suspect that the admins know he's full of $@#*, otherwise he wouldn't be banned from the fischer page, but he did pay for his membership.

It appears to be so:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:G...

This Wiki guy couldn't have said it any better:

<Merge into Gothic Chess ... please, Gawd, soon- before Ed Trice and his string of sockpuppets and sycophants can start another disruptive edit war!>

Apr-12-09  capatal: Ed Labate is a stand up guy. You can trust him with all your Chess stuff.

He did worse things, you know! Like maybe chickening out vs. Karpov and praising 9/11. In the broad scheme of things, that silly book doesn't matter a hill of beans

chancho: <Mrs A> You have a valid point. But seeing some schmuck benefiting from a great players work. That would be a crying shame.
