Ok, so, Trice is saying it was his *choice* to take down the site where he illegally sold property on Mars, and slandered Arnold Schwarzenegger and other celebraties by claiming that they were his clients. Wow. I'm glad we cleared that up.

May-21-09  Jim Bartle: I'm disappointed in the kibitzers on this page.

On May 10 danfreely said we were slandering Trice, and I said that was false, and that nobody had ever slandered anybody on chessgames.

I thought somebody would pick up on it, but since nobody did, slander is speaking something malicious and false, while writing false and malicious things is libel.

May-21-09  PinnedPiece: <hackmate>

I'm wondering if you are tuned into the position Ed Trice has taken lately regarding M61MG.

He has been promoting the idea, more with innuendo than anything substantive, that Einarsson and Labate were the "publishing force" behind the supposed scam.

In effect, he has now sided with those that say the book was a fraud.

What is your take on this aspect of the situation, if I may ask?

(Note that I am not one who assumes your kibitzes are being typed by <ET>.)

May-21-09  JonDSouzaEva: <Jim Bartle> So what's it called if someone writes something malicious and true?

chancho: This guy too noticed something strange about that book. From Chesstalk.com:

<Egidijus Zeromskis: Looking at[the] book's photos, I [am] really amazed, that B.F. commented and wrote in a such strange way:>

<487 page. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_538-FFQ4e... He (somebody) provides the variation at move 12 then goes 10 moves (24.) and starts to give blunders (M 24. fg3 is a gross blunder). Looks weird to me.>

<http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_538-FFQ4e... The header of the books is most funny: "My 61 memorable games, November 9, 2007" What's so special about this date to include in a header?>

http://www.chesstalk.info/forum/sho...

Seems Trice knows what's so special about it . As you guys already know, he posted this on page 832 of the Fischer page:

<Robert James Fischer Nov-09-07>

<Ed Trice: Bobby's page here is used to kibitz about just about everything. Often these topics are wide-ranging and don't pertain just to chess. But, I must admit, they sometimes make for good reading. Before I used to just visit here to just catch up on the latest ramblings. Yesterday was a different story.>

<Keeping up with it all has been rather hectic. Everyone has something to say. Everyone thinks they are right and everyone else is wrong. People need to calm down!>

<Those of you who are guilty know who you are! Have you ever thought about what you write? Or do you even care about those who you offend? Sometimes I wonder. Each day, there is some flame war or other brewing.>

<Kind of makes you think, doesn't it? I mean, why so much arguing? Diatribe after diatribe, rambling on and on. Not everyone likes to read stuff like that! Each person is different, and each person has their own perspective. You should all respect that in each other. Stay on topic, don't stray, and don't initiate the flame wars.>

<Have some decency also. Eschew that which you seek. And pay attention to what the author is saying, there could be something important contained therein! Like what is being said here (those most of you will disagree.) Tomorrow is always another day. Have a beer, go relax, and chill out. You will feel better.>

And as is already known, there's a hidden message in the above post.

May-21-09  Jim Bartle: "Eschew that which you seek."

The guiding principle of my life.

May-21-09  PinnedPiece: <So, seriously <PinnedPiece>, you think it likely that "hackmate" is anyone other than Trice?>

At the very minimum they know each other, and live near each other, as hackmate's alter personna on ChessTalk indicates:

Art Hamilton is on a distinguished road

Default Re: My 61 Memorable Games
Hello everyone.

The popular consensus about the nature of this book seems to be "greatly exaggerated", in the words of the great Mark Twain. I have 2 copies of this book. I was involved in a debate over this in another online place. People asked me to post my picture online showing a copy of "today's newspaper" while holding the book in the other hand. Just because the arguments were so heated, I decided to go through with it.

<<<> http://s542.photobucket.com/albums/...
>
>

Harsh words have been spoken about this book in other posts here. I agree with some, don't with some others. I wanted to add that I too thought this book was a fake, but I responded to one of the Craig's List ads that just so happened to be in my own neighborhood.

I was also asked to send money in the mail and I said "No way!" The person finally agreed to meet me in some diner out of the way. Once I saw the book in person, my jaw was wide open.

I liked the book, flipped through it for a few minutes, then shelled out the money. I can tell you now, this book was written by Fischer. It sounds like him all the way. The stories about what really happened behind the scenes are very interesting, some of them even funny! There are pictures in just about every chapter of the 61 games, some have more than one photo per chapter. I thought I saw every photo ever published by Fischer. In this book there are some I've seen nowhere else.

Before you attack me, think about what you write. I'll answer any questions that are reasonable. >

He gets snippity, and was banned on this day:

<Jan 13 2008

Fine. For $100 I was going to loan it to you under the condition you get the money back when I get the book back. That's now off the table.

I paid $400 for each of my copies.

The one I've been reading is available for $500.
The one I've been preserving (unopened, unread) is available for $600.>

.

Notable about the first copied post, and in support of <MageofMaple>'s opinion:

Many of the same people who discuss this on chessgames.com were involved in the thread at the link above (including <Lawrence Day> who explains the method of purchasing his copy) . Notable for his absence was Ed Trice. However, some of the <GeauxCool> "quote hallmarks"--often seen in Ed Trice (and my own, btw) written remarks-- are quite evident in the Art Hamilton message posted above.

Why do you think I'm asking <hackmate> what <trice thinks> <MOM>? I'm trying to give the guy rope here, and you keep coiling it neatly up. thanks a lot.

.

May-21-09  PinnedPiece: Well <Mage> your post is gone. what do I do now?

chancho: <MageOfMaple: Or how about how "hackmate" not only claimed not to be Trice, but not even in contact with Trice?>

<Hackmate: Because Trice forwarded his domain renewal notice to a bunch of people here on chessgames.com and one of them forwarded it to me.>>

Interesting. I found this on the Lawrence Day page:

<hackmate: And how did I find out about some of the things I mentioned? I <<emailed Ed Trice>> and asked him directly. So far he's answered every question I asked him.>

<All you people do is speculate wildly and make false claims. Why don't you just go to the source?>

If <hackmate> had contacted Trice in the past, then why wasn't he one of the "bunch" to get the domain renewal notice from Trice? Then again, why would Trice bother forwarding this to a "bunch of people" in chessgames.com (who have not said anything about it I might add) and not posted the evidence himself where EVERYONE can see it here?

May-22-09  MageOfMaple: <PinnedPiece: Why do you think I'm asking <hackmate> what <trice thinks> <MOM>? I'm trying to give the guy rope here, and you keep coiling it neatly up. thanks a lot.>

<PinnedPiece: Well <Mage> your post is gone. what do I do now?>

Yes, after making the post, it occured to me what you were up to, so I removed it. Your posts appeared after mine was already removed.

Although I think giving him rope seems a little redundant at this point. He's already hung himself. I don't even know why this conversation continues anymore. It is clear that Hackmate is, in fact, Ed "Even My Sockpuppets Have Sockpuppets" Trice, who doesn't log in with his own account to try to make it look like he's above the frey and unconcerned with our opinion, but then keeps popping in as sockpuppets and making rediculous claims like <Because Trice forwarded his domain renewal notice to a bunch of people here on chessgames.com and one of them forwarded it to me>. Just when I think he couldn't get any more pathetic, he finds a way to reach new depths.

May-22-09  PinnedPiece: Ah well.

There's still a .01 chance (significant in some scientific endeavors) that Trice has been inserted clumsily into an affair that has turned him into not only a scape-goat, but also scape-mole, scape-waspnest, scape-chicken, and many other barnyard animals as well.

.

May-22-09  PinnedPiece: <Because Trice forwarded his domain renewal notice to a bunch of people here on chessgames.com and one of them forwarded it to me>. If anyone would know whether this has been discussed, it would be <Jim Bartle>. He visits every page on CG.COM nearly every day. ;-}

.

May-22-09  GeauxCool: Sybil is afflicted with so many delusions, that she's starved for the truth. I don't think it's ethical to keep feeding these things. She needs to take a bite of the reality sandwich, and we need to keep focused on that for the sake of clarity. And I think <Stonehenge> is right. Sybil doesn't understand her own psychosis. So maybe it's time to quit playing mind-games with the mentally ill <Pinned Piece>.
May-22-09  Jim Bartle: "If anyone would know whether this has been discussed, it would be <Jim Bartle>."

Actually I haven't paid much attention to all the back and forth with e-mails and claims of this and that. My evidence is the contents the book itself--and I've seen enough--and the fact it's not for sale to the public.

chancho: After Einar Einarsson said the book was a hoax and that Fischer did not write it, you'd think that would have put an end to the nonsense. But unfortunately, someone (or some people) with a vested interest are still trying to convince people of something that has been debunked a while ago. Fischer did not write the hoax book. The aftermath of this debacle is mostly comic relief.

jessicafischerqueen: <<Stonehenge> Guys, part of Trice's (aka hackmate) syndrome is that he doesn't realize he is sick. Pitiful really.>

All due respect <Stony>- I think <Ed Trice> is more than aware that he is a criminal sociopath.

He just doesn't care.

If you type <Ed Trice Con Artist> in the Google search box, guess how many hits you get?

<Ed Trice> used to have pull around CG.com.

Because he was "high profile" as an inventor of an "important chess variant."

Two years ago, I was warned by the administrators that I would be banned from this website if I posted his name as <Triceratops> just one more time.

So was my friend here at our website.

<Trice> is not only sociopathic- he is a mean spirited, bullying sociopath.

I hate his guts.

And to see he is still posting as hackmate as recently as today when his reputation is = finally, and thankfully, a matter of abject public disgrace-- is beyond pathetic.

Why is he (both of him) not banned from this website???

Like he's been banned from so many other parts of the Internet?

I wish he would go away forever.

May-22-09  MageOfMaple: <jessicafischerqueen> Here here!

Trice has slandered me, harassed me, and impersonated me, repeatedly, going on six years now. I have witnessed him drive away good people from fun websites like chessvariants.org by acting so mean and crazy that they just left. There is more than one person who's home phone number he acquired and called relentlessly shouting obscenities into their answering machine, message after message. He obtained people's home addresses and posted them publicly as part of beligerant, threating messages to make people scared for their personal safety.

So, with respect, <GeauxCool>, I really don't what to hear how he needs mental help. What he needs is a prison cell. What he's done here is nothing compaired to what he did on chessvariants.org for years. They were afraid to act because he kept threatening them with lawsuits, and, unlike chessgames.com, they do not make money - overall they lose money. So I don't blame them for being hesitant to act. But even they eventually banned him and his game entirely. What is wrong with <chessgames.com> I do not know. This has been Trice's primary forum for promoting his criminal endevour, and the administration (i.e., Daniel Freeman) has supported him at every turn. Even still, Trice and his sockpuppets are threatening and slandering (Riverbeast, Rob Mitchell, both recently.) He even made false accusations of Riverbeast being under criminal investigation by the FBI and claimed he was in poessession of the file! That is not only slander/libel; it's criminal to impersonate law enforcement. What is chessgames.com's response???
