The Caissars: Thank you for participating in the 2019 Caissars! We apologize for the very delayed start, which probably contributed to the difficulty of selecting deserving candidates, and will do our best to run the Caissars at the beginning of January in the future. <And now here are ...

The Caissars: You folks have won two Caissars this year: "Most Productive" and "Best Historian(s)". Congraulations; the CG community does not overlook your valiant contributions.

northernfox: I vote for <Phony Benoni> for best username.

I vote for <frogbert> for best avatar.

Jan-10-13  magnifico: <Feel free to not participate, you can stage a boycott in protest.> this is a denial of my consitutional right of suffrage and equal opportunity. Why would you encourage it...you utter words of wisdom from a wannabe dictator.

But we are living in a democracy, aren't we?..were all are afforded equal rights and opportunies...paramount of which is the exercise of the right of suffrage.

Well, it seems CG has taken your stand.

It definitely is not the one taken by the community of nations.

Jan-10-13  magnifico: <I disagree with the <Parbrahman> nomination as that post is from 2013.> You can disagree all you want...it can not change anything unless you point out a ruling explicitly stated ....Your objection is concocted from the deep recesses of your mind just like <frogbert>'s mumbo jumbo statistical report. It does not carry any weight.

The post met the deadline for nomination, hence valid.

Jan-10-13  TheFocus: <You can disagree all you want...it can not change anything unless you point out a ruling explicitly stated>

Take a look at the top of the page. We're honoring 2012, not 2013.

<It is an annual tradition of Chessgames to begin the year looking back at the previous. We're celebrating 2013 as we salute <2012>, and offer these 13 categories available for awards:>

  The Caissars: Some notes:

First, many thanks to Annie K, tpstar, WannaBe, and many others for helping us with the chores of this process.

Second: frogbert/Meloncio/Travis Bickle are now added to "Most Helpful", as well as Al Wazir's post, and we agree that 2013 Parbrahman's post will have to wait for next year to be voted upon.

Third, let it be noted that <magnifico> is a tiresome troll and I just put him on my ignore list.

Jan-10-13  TheFocus: <Third, let it be noted that <magnifico> is a tiresome troll and I just put him on my ignore list.>

OhioChessFan: On the recent kibitzing, I saw <TheFocus> quoting of someone else about a tiresome troll. I was ready to come here and tell them to take it to the admins...by the way, Bravo!

  Annie K.: Oh, about 2 posts before <Ohio>'s... ;)

<WannaBe> it should be a strong contender for Best Post too!

Jan-10-13  TheFocus: Ah, yes, I was reposting <The Caissar's> sentence.

I thought he was saying I had posted something about trolls.

I misunderstood.

Sorry, it's been a LONG day.

Check It Out: I vote <hms123> most helpful.

I vote <tpstar> best post Anand-Gelfand World Chess Championship (2012)

That is some funny stuff. Go read it.

Jan-11-13  Jim Bartle: I vote <tpstar> at <anand-gelfand> for best post. In fact, it should retire the award.
Jan-11-13  Pulo y Gata: I wanted to opt out but, yes, I vote <tpstar> for the best post award at Anand-Gelfand World Chess Championship (2012).

The Caissars: First let me say, our vote counting software is still very new and untested, so we are doing a manual count now to corroborate the computer count. Even if it's not perfect we are confident it's good enough to tell us the winner. OK, the envelope please... (rrrrrrrrrrrrip)

For the category of Best Avatar we have <parmetd> with his "octopi" insignia. By our count he received 6.5 votes.

For the category of Best Username we have <Phony Benoni> who came in clear first with 9.5 votes.

Congratulations!

Jan-11-13  Blunderdome: I vote for <Annie K.> for Most Helpful.

I vote for the <chessgames.com> post which unveiled Berlin 1881 for Best Post.

The Caissars: Let me also remind everybody to please

1 — be certain to say "vote" or "voting" somewhere in your post (otherwise we might think it's idle chatter).

2 — be sure to put usernames in <gold text>.

Thanks!
