Chess pops up all the time. Usually, the references are inaccurate but often funny. I saw a movie last year where a middle aged house wife with innate chess ability learns how to play chess, and within six months is playing in mid level masters tournaments, in France. To help with training, her husband buys her one of those old, goofy Fidelity electronic chess games, where the software is built into the board. And, the board talks!
