Penguincw: Hmm, the only voting post I see coming before/after the correct date is by <jfq>, who voted <Party Animal> for Best Avatar, which would've made it 4-4, but the Caissars annouced <Party Animal> the winner, even though it would've been a tie.

So in the event of a tie, I assume it's shared, but if there's a tiebreaker, what would it be? Which avatar number comes first, shortest username, ABC username, previous winner?

Jan-17-16  TheFocus: <The Caissars: <I nominate <Diceman> for funniest poster.> Although coming in a few hours after the cutoff, we decided to let that nomination stand. Good luck to the Diceman.>

So you are changing the rules of the game?

This hardly seems fair.

Actually, it is cheating. There were several days in which this person COULD have been nominated, but wasn't.

Can we nominate some more people now? If we can nominate <Diceman>, why not more?

I lodge a formal protest.

Jan-17-16  Karposian: <Penguincw> It's not a tie. <YouRang> won 4-3.
Jan-17-16  TheFocus: <The Caissars: <I nominate <Diceman> for funniest poster.> Although coming in a few hours after the cutoff, we decided to let that nomination stand. Good luck to the Diceman.>

How many hours was it? 3? 5? 24?

<♘ VOTING RULES ♘

<All votes must be time-stamped with the correct date to be counted. Early and late votes will be ignored and/or deleted.>

Already we can see two rules violations by whoever is running this... contest.

Why don't you announce the rest of the winners in advance? Save us the time from voting?

Jan-17-16  Karposian: I agree with <TheFocus>. Of course, the time stamp rule, like any other rule, must be respected.

  Penguincw: < Karposian: <Penguincw> It's not a tie. <YouRang> won 4-3. >

Yes, I know. I counted it myself, and it matches <GE>'s tally.

<BUT>, I'm trying to figure out how <The Caissars> got <Party Animal> to be the winner, and the most logical conclusion I can come up with is that <The Caissars> accidentally counted <jfq>'s vote, which was <Party Animal> for <Best Avatar>, which <would've> made it a 4-4 tie.

But in the <event of a tie>, what happens? Is the award shared, is there a tiebreaker(s) or is it awarded randomly?

No worries, <cg>. I would've made the same mistake. But remember, the most important thing is learning from one's mistakes.

My guess is that <The Caissars> mistakenly counted both <JFQ>'s vote AND <Party Animal>'s own vote for himself :)

Jan-17-16  TheFocus: Jan-17-16

<YouRang> is the rightful winner: 4-3.

<TheCaissars> Explain yourself. We can ALL count.

3. MOST HELPFUL

<Sally Simpson>

4. BEST POST

<TheTamale> Igor Ivanov vs L Witt, 1981 (kibitz #6)

Jan-17-16  TheFocus: 4. BEST POST

I vote for <latvalatvian: A Giri vs Svidler, 2015 (kibitz #2).

Jan-17-16  TheFocus: I hope my vote for Best Post is the one the administrators have pre-selected to win.
Jan-17-16  WinKing: My count is also 4-3 with <YouRang> having 4 votes.
Jan-17-16  Abdel Irada: <Karposian: I agree with <TheFocus>. Of course, the time stamp rule, like any other rule, must be respected.>

I also agree. What's the point of having rules if you don't enforce them?

Jan-17-16  Abdel Irada: For Most Helpful, I vote for <SallySimpson>.

For Best Post, I vote for A Giri vs Svidler, 2015 (kibitz #2).

Jan-17-16  wordfunph: I vote for 3. Most Helpful <WinKing>
Jan-17-16  TheFocus: <<Abdel Irada>> <Karposian: I agree with <TheFocus>. Of course, the time stamp rule, like any other rule, must be respected.>

<I also agree. What's the point of having rules if you don't enforce them?>

The fix is in.

I have nothing against <Diceman>, who I think is funny, but his entry is a farce.

If this isn't fixed, I will complain to the Admins.
