Jan-13-06  Robin01: So I go with 7...Nd7 also.
Jan-13-06  RonB52734: They have moved e5.

I'm not in a position to analyze this until morning, ok?

And if the other side wants to substitute a player, I have no objection.

Jan-13-06  RonB52734: Ok, I'll agree ...Nd7

WannaBe: <Robin01> Sorry, typo. 3 no problems, motion passed with majority of 3 aye, 0 nay, and 2 absentee. =)

I'll notify the other team on the <me to play> page. (Hey, I gotta do something right? =)

Jan-13-06  sitzkrieg: Hey guys I am just short online. Nd7 looks fine to me. So i vote for that. Have we considered d5 tho?

I dont have objections to substitute player too.

Probably wont be online for 2 days so if i come back i expect the game to be won, ok? (by us!)

Jan-13-06  RonB52734: after ...d5 and exf6 I think our kingside pawns are in trouble
Jan-13-06  Robin01: I was looking at 7...d5 for us earlier, and if white would play 8.exf6 I think we are okay after 8...dxc4, but better for white I believe would be 8.Nxd5. I did not like our position after 8.Nxd5 for white. I still believe 7...Nd7 looks the best and will still vote for that as my move selection.
Jan-14-06  RonB52734: I agree Robin; I've been looking at it on a board and I'm most comfortable with Nd7

WannaBe: I have no problem with Nd7, However, I do worry about the c4 bishop, if team white choose to sacrifice the it and possibly render our h8 rook trapped and useless for the rest of the game.

So count me in as a vote for Nd7.

Jan-14-06  RonB52734: As I count it, we are unanimous for Nd7
Jan-14-06  Robin01: I assume that white will now play 8.exd6. If this is their move, I have been looking at the move 8...Nb6 hitting the bishop before recapturing the pawn.

I believe they will play 8.e6 followed by fxe6 9. Bxe6 Nc5 we can possibly followed with Qc7 and 0-0-0.

If 8.exd6 Nb6 9. Bb3 exd6 will give us an isolated pawn on d.

Jan-14-06  RonB52734: I agree that 8. e6 is likely [8...fxe6 9.Bxe6 Nc5]

I want to mention that I was looking at 8.Bxf7+ Kxf7 9.Ng5+ Ke8 10.QB3 Ndxe5, where getting a N to e5 is necessary to control f7.

Jan-14-06  Robin01: Looks like they went for 8.Bxf7+. Well, our next move is forced of course, so we need to wait and see what they will do after we recapture the bishop.
Jan-14-06  Robin01: If they play 9.Ng5+, then we play 9...Ke8. If they play 9.e6+, then I think the move 9...Kg8 is better for us.
Jan-14-06  Robin01: So, Captain, I think you can play our move whenever you have time, since we only have one move here.
Jan-14-06  Robin01: I'm not going to analyze any further lines right now, until we see what they decide to do after we recapture. I bet that we are completely out of book lines already.

WannaBe: I agree, our hands are tied and forced.
Jan-14-06  sitzkrieg: woei!i am online after all.

I agree with Robin. Their sac. seems to be quite strong and we have to be careful. On e6+ Kg8 is better for no checks on the diagonal; same reason why on Ng5 Kg8 is fatal. So it is most likely we will have to make a few "forced" only moves. But in the end we must have the better of it. Unless, of course, this is all theory. Then we are doomed..:)

Jan-14-06  RonB52734: Ok, I'm up to date. Waiting for white's move.

WannaBe: Beware of e pawn, if it gets pushed, the king has to take, and it's stuck out there without much defence/support!
Jan-14-06  Robin01: They played 9.e6+, so I vote for 9...Kg8. I analyzed this earlier and believe this is our best option.
Jan-14-06  RonB52734: <Robin01> I'm leaning toward that. But we can sleep on it now.
Jan-14-06  NakoSonorense: Wow, the knightmares are really going for it! I gotta say i didnt see that coming... But it's just a fancy way of exhanging pieces... I like <9...Ke8> here. The reason for that is that if we move the king to g8, then we wont be able to activate our rook.

After 10.exd7, I suggest <10...Bxd7>

WannaBe: I have the same reservation about Kg8, if we play Ke8, then...

10. exd7 Bxd7 11. 0-0 e6
10. Qd5? Nb6 (I consider this Q move unlikely)
10. exd7 Bxd7 11. Qe2 e6

get the black squared bishop out there, and get the h rook to f. Will be on-line Sunday.
