WannaBe: Game over. Congrats to Indiana. Here's the "Kicker", the odds were 8.5 or 7.5 depending if you wagered early days ago or earlier this morning. But it would not have mattered if you bet on Indiana Now, the total a.k.a. O/U was 48.5 and it did not move. Which means books did a good ...

WannaBe: So, the Tata Steel blitz were held in India, and players have 6 days to fly to NED for the next (or 2026 first) major event... What is the flight path? Here are some ideas: https://www.flightroutes.com/CCU-AMS

WannaBe: <suenteus po 147> Yeah, the big day is almost here. Excited, and yet also nervous. Haven't played in the 'big' tournaments since the American Open last Nov.

I am going to be in the U1400 section. and I am playing in all 6 rounds. Not taking any bye(s). Gonna take my medicine like a MAN!! =)

My brain will probably turn to jello after Sunday night's game, I won't even know how to play them one-armed bandits anymore!

Very much looking forward to breakfast Monday morning with you and future Mrs. <suenteus po 147>. <DrDum> said he will join us too!! =)

Jun-14-06  suenteus po 147: <WannaBe> That's cool news about <DrDum>. I can't wait to meet you in person. It's also great to hear your rating qualifies you for the U1400 section. The six rounds will no doubt be brutal (considering the simul as well), but it will be invaluable experience at this point in your chess career (I post this term seriously). If your rating gets over 1400 you and I may face off at next year's Open :)

WannaBe: Actually, with my current rating, I should be in the U1200 section, which I was. But I felt brave, and asked to be moved up to the U1400. =)
Jun-14-06  Chess Classics: <WannaBe> We're having a best game contest from the invitational. Everyone is supposed to submit 1, or, if they like, 2 games for voting by the kibitzers. See my forum for details.

CC

Jun-14-06  Chess Classics: Oops, my bad. I didn't see your post at my forum. Cheers mate!

WannaBe: Jean Luc's voice: Captain's log, star date June 14th 2006. (Yes, Data, I know the server time is already June 15th!!! Stupid time zones...)

Starship USS WannaBe, USS DrDum and USS MidKnightBlue will engage the Borgs in approx. 36 hours. But before we do, just for hahas, we'll amuse the Andorians in a bit of mock battle simulation.

We have faced the enemies before and the Borgs has not relented, and either will we. It will be a long, hard, and complex battle, but I believe the our faithful crews are ready to follow any order and execute our master plans as we proceed to face and battle our enemies.

In case of victory, I have pre-arranged to bring on-board 30 kegs of Romulan Ale and 30 kegs of Klingon blood wine to be shared amongst the victorious survivors. Either that, or Mr. Worf will drink them all by himself, just shortly before the auto-destruct sequence blows this ship to smithereens.

Alright, Mr. Worf!! I'll say it, now just pipe down!!

Perhaps, tomorrow is a good day to die. There, you happy now Mr. Worf?!

Computer, end log.

I'm terminally ill. Only you winning against GM Polgar will cure me.

Jun-15-06  LIFE Master AJ: I was teasing, I am a huge ST fan.

I like the original series, and "The Next Generation." (I wasn't real thrilled with some of the later off-shoots.)

WannaBe: <blingice> Sorry bud, you're f*&&^ed. I'm all checked in, but the wireless costs money, so I'm on <DrDum>'s computer.

He's got a broadband dial up. So I may not be posting much in the next few days. Hate to beg <DrDum> to use his computer. =)

Jun-15-06  brankat: <WannaBe> Staying away from a computer for a few days will be good for You. Take care.
Jun-15-06  blingice: <WannaBe: <blingice> Sorry bud, you're f*&&^ed.>

Oh well...

Jun-15-06  buscher07: hey are any of you all going to the US Open in Oak Brook in August?
Jun-16-06  suenteus po 147: <buscher07> That all depends on where Oak Brook is, my friend.
Jun-16-06  Robin01: I believe Oak Brook is a suburb of Chicago.
Jun-16-06  suenteus po 147: <Robin01> Not too far away, but still requires a plane ticket. Probably won't make it.
Jun-16-06  Robin01: The National Open is on, and there are some games live on Internet Chess Club.

Jun-16-06  Robin01: I am not sure if they are broadcasting <WannaBe>'s games though, but they should!:)

WannaBe: The new thigamabob was used for the Polgar Simul. So yes, my game was on there (one of them.) Is <blingice> still alive? =)

Anywhom, got to go and get ready, I got 3 hours to somewhat prepare myself for game 2, I'm pretty sure I'll be black, since I was white in the first game.
