| Jun-24-06 | | Chopin: <Wannabe> After calling the 1900- Psychic Hotline, and paying 3.99/minute, here are my (her) predictions; can't believe I paid 70 dollars. Anyways, she thinks you're going to be an 1800 rated player one day, and Saudi Arabia will win the world cup in 2010; so I'm confident she's legit. <Predictions>

| Jun-24-06 | | notsodeepthought: Damn it, I forgot we had to make predictions for the round of 16 - oh well, I know it's too late, but I'll make them anyway, just to impress people. For starters, I predict that Germany has beaten Sweden 2-0 and Argentina has defeated Mexico 2-1 with the winning goal coming in extra time - that's how accurately I can predict past events. For the remaining of the tournament: 1. Germany
2. Brazil
3. Italy
4. the Netherlands
5-8 should be in no particular order:
5. Argentina
6. Switzerland
7. England
8. France
9-16 should be in no particular order, just like 5-8: 9. Spain
10. Ghana
11. Ukraine
12. Australia
13. Portugal
14. Ecuador
15. Mexico
16. Sweden

| Jun-24-06 | | Chess Classics: <WannaBe> I'm sorry mate, tomorrow at noon for our training game doesn't work for me (I'll be at church and then golfing). If you want to reschedule, I'll try to fit you in sometime. Regards,

 | | WannaBe: <Chess Classics> Can you squeeze me in between the front 9 and the back 9? :-) How about July 1st or 2nd? let me know which day is good for you, or even 3rd. I have that Monday off. |

| Jun-25-06 | | Mating Net: <Mating Net: ...I despise the Sicilian,...> May I ask why?!?!?! Mainly because most Sicilian players love to play the open Sicilians, but consider the anti-Sicilians to be wimpy. The reason they think this is because they devote 90% of their study time to open Sicilian theory so when you hit them with 3.Bb5 or 3.Bb5+ it renders all that theory useless and turns the game into a chess game & not a memory contest. I've actually had Sicilian players say things like "...if you had played 3.d4 I would have won..." Sorry to spoil your plans. |

| Jun-25-06 | | brankat: <WannaBe> I see You have the Shredder pretty well booked up. Ever since Your first game against <Dynoseues>'s Rybka I've been meaning to ask You if it would be OK for me to challenge the Shredder (under Your guidance) for a game! Really just to test myself, to see how much resistance can I possibly offer. Please let me know if this is acceptable. If so, then I'll get back to You with my thoughts on the ground rules. Thank You. |

| Jun-25-06 | | Dionyseus: <WannaBe> <Our computer rematch, Shredder has finally decided on 1. e4> 1...c5
It's a good thing I decided to check up on your forum tonight, otherwise I would have waited until Monday ;p I'll be using Rybka 2 Beta 8, although my hardware is still the same as before, P4 3.2 Prescott with HT, 1gb ram. |

| Jun-25-06 | | larrewl: I'm surprised that several have picked The Netherlands to make the semi-finals, some even the finals. They have a great team but have not been very impressive so far. I'm even more surprised that some have picked Spain, who have been even less impressive. :) |
|
| Jun-25-06 | | Open Defence: well Holland seem to have less injuries I think than others and the Stage 2 matches tend to go the distance meaning that they can make more use of substitutions |
