Jun-27-06  brankat: <WannaBe> Hi there buddy!

Regarding the Shredder game I had the audacity to challenge You to, I propose the following (to try to get close to a level playing field):

1. I will have the White pieces.

2. We'll play at my forum (home turf advantage!)

3. The Shredder should have no more than 10-20 minutes per/a move, I will have a day/per a move. Of course, first 7-8 moves will not take that long, we can do it in a day, and then slow down later.

4. Kibitzing, if any, can take place at both of our forums, but mostly general comments, no mention of specific moves (so the Shredder doesn't see the suggestions :-))

5. The start of the big event: Wednesday, June 28, 2006. 9:00 pm. Pacific Standard Time.

Btw, how about contacting the Chess Bookie to offer a line on this game? We could both get rich, if You know what I mean, hehehe!!

Jun-27-06  Dionyseus: <WannaBe> I actually made the mistake of thinking you played 16.Rfd1 instead of Rfe1, on my 16th move I said you played Rfe1 but on my Fritz screen I put Rfd1 and it is Rfd1 in the diagram as well. But that's alright, Rybka doesn't mind actually ;p

WannaBe: <Dionyseus> I believe Rfd1 was option number 2? or was it number 3 behind Rfe1.

Jun-27-06  Open Defence: what is Shredder's evaluation <Wannabe> ?
Jun-27-06  chessmoron: I hope is in the negative side. =)
Jun-27-06  Open Defence: Well <Chopin> is faring better than us <Emperor> maybe they do know something about football in Canada ?!
Jun-27-06  Open Defence: simmilar to the horizon effect but more pronounced and silly i think i suffer from the "wander over the cliff" effect.. I calculate very complex variations some times thinking that i would get an edge but often don't calculate far enough and "wander over the edge of the cliff" so to speak

As for eval, Rybka rarely ever agrees with Shredder 10. The current eval by Rybka is -0.60

<Open Defence> I have no clue how is Shredder or Rybka calculating these position evaluations... =) Last game, it had Shredder ahead, but the game was drawn.
