| Dec-14-06 | | brankat: Best Historian: <Calli>, Best Analyst: <tpstar> ( I wish I could vote for myself:-)) Btw, what happened to all the other categories? |
| Dec-14-06 | | dakgootje: Think you can vote for those after everyone has voted for these 2. |
| Dec-14-06 | | chessmoron: <Btw, what happened to all the other categories?> Probably 2 categories a day. |
Dec-14-06
 | | WannaBe: <brankat> It's hard enough to keep track number of votes in 2 separate categories, I'm not going to keep track of 12 categories. So, I'm spreading it out over 6 days. Last year, <nikolaas> had us vote one category at a time. |
Dec-14-06
 | | WannaBe: Oh.... let's see...
<you vs yourself> voted twice, that's an invalid ballot. No idea who or what <chessmoron> is voting for, that's an invalid ballot. Wooooooo.... hanging chads on <NakoSonorense>'s ballot because of all the cactus pins. That's invalid. Guess I'll have to declare meself the winner. (In another 5 3/4 hours, when the voting closes for these 2 categories. :-) |
| Dec-14-06 | | brankat: <WannaBe> <It's hard enough to keep track number of votes in 2 separate categories, I'm not going to keep track of 12 categories.> You mean You don't have a nice little DataBase set up for this? A simple Access DB, with a couple of tables(20 or so fields), 2 macros, 2-3 queries and 1 report would do the trick. You can do it 30 monutes, better yet the program can do it in 2 minutes :-) Or are You doing this in an old fashioned way, manually :-) |
Dec-14-06
 | | WannaBe: Yeah, but it will take me days! to write the program and test it to make sure it's correct, and I made no logical errors. (Union job, you know...) Sometimes, the ol' paper/pen/abacus works just as well, if not faster. |
| Dec-14-06 | | chessmoron: <No idea who or what <chessmoron> is voting for, that's an invalid ballot.> That's preposterous!!!
I thought you were fluent in Chinese (simplified). DISGRACE! |
| Dec-14-06 | | NakoSonorense: Invalid? WHAT? Why?!
I second chessmoron! You're not fluent in Chinese simplified? How dare you! You're a disgrace for your people! Just look at me, I'm not Chinese and I can understand chessmoron perfectly! [I've been using too many exclamation marks!] |

Best Post: just before the final game, wc match, kramnik - leko 2004 <azaris: My great prediction for the match: Kramnik will play 1. g3 and Leko will respond with the Lasker Simul Special, 1...h5. After the rotten tomatoes have been cleaned off the stage play will continue. Kramnik will play 25 moves straight out of his opening preparation, realize he's hopelessly lost and then sack his queen to reach an endgame with two bishops of the same color and four isolated pawns against Leko's queen. Everybody will predict the result is a dead draw, but Kasparov will announce Kramnik has a forced win though mysteriously this fact only surfaces after the match has finished. Kramnik goes on to win in 150 moves and hold his title as the Classical World Chess Champion. Remember, you heard it here first!>

| Dec-14-06 | | RonB52734: I'm going to reach into the ballot box and change my "historian" vote to <Resignation Trap>. Unfortunately, when I reach into the ballot box to retrieve my original ballot, I pull out <chessmoron>'s order of General Tso's chicken and hot-and-sour soup, and get so involved in a nice snack that I miss the voting deadline. Best Historian: <Resignation Trap> |

You're making me hungry all over again....
