| May-13-07 | | you vs yourself: <WannaBe> God, it feels great to be done with the exams. Regarding the chicago open, I just saw the class prizes and they're looking pretty good. Only problem is one has to play at least 26 games to qualify for the top prize. I only played 21 games, which means the max I can win is 2k. You, on the other hand, have a chance to win $4000!! I hope you're preparing hard(ly:) for this thing. BTW this(kstc_jyu@yahoo.com) is your e-mail address, right? Just want to confirm before sending my phone number. |

 | | WannaBe: kstc_jyu@yahoo.com is the one. If not, I've got you in my addr book. want me to sent you an e-mail first? |
May-13-07
 | | WannaBe: Ah, yes, after 25 games, your rating is no longer provisional... But I wonder... Since Chicago Open is 7 gms, you have 21, does the 7 count?? Because, that'd give you 28 gms! |
| May-13-07 | | you vs yourself: I already sent you an e-mail. Let me know if you got it. |
May-13-07
 | | WannaBe: <You vs. yourself> Yep. I got it. |
| May-13-07 | | Tactic101: Still losing all your Chessbucks, eh, <Wannabe>? =) |

 | | WannaBe: Here is the original, by Norman Greenbaum, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ-q... And here is the 'NEW' version. (By an Indian singer) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPUX... And quite actually, I like them both, I like how the newer version speed up the song! (Also the new version got hot dancers and humourous under-tone. I give 12 pts to the new version!) |
| May-14-07 | | hitman84: <WannaBe>Its not a new version but more of a spoof. That's actually a talk show called "The Kumars at no. 42" where they invite celebrities to their home as guests and interview them. Its a sick show really but you know how the Brits like their humour :) |
| May-14-07 | | Eyal: <WannaBe> Thanks for your input on the song - a pity that an overwhelming majority of European voters didn't think the same:-) Anyway, it's definitely not what you would call a "typical Eurovision song" - though, come to think of it, that category itself is getting somewhat blurry in recent years. Btw, the name of the band means white correction fluid. |
| May-14-07 | | DrDum: <Wannabe> The answer to your question in the cafe I believe is a band called the <New Vaudville Band>. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winche... |

 | | WannaBe: <Tactic101> You 'DARE' to challenge the <GREAT WannaBe> on GK?? =) Knowning my records against fellow CG.com members, you should win the game in 19 moves. |
| May-16-07 | | Resignation Trap: I can find some articles on Aspen 1968 in <Chess Life> and <Chess Review>. Anything specific you have in mind? |
May-16-07
 | | WannaBe: <Resignation Trap> Just that some people were questioning today's Game of the Day M Callinan vs Saidy, 1968 and I can't find anything in my database (that came with Shredder). I don't doubt that the game took place, but Callinan only have one game in CG.com's database... |
| May-16-07 | | Resignation Trap: Callinan-Saidy was played in Round One, Sunday August 11, 1968. Saidy went on to score 9/12 (4th-6th place). Callinan, 5.5/12 (92nd-107th). |

 | | WannaBe: <Resignation Trap> Thank you, so much!! |
| May-17-07 | | Tactic101: Oh boy, oh boy, what on earth did I get myself into........ Sure am smart.... =) And no, I think the game will go past 19 moves. But the result will not be something I'll be proud of. =) |
| May-17-07 | | WarmasterKron: <Knowning my records against fellow CG.com members, you should win the game in 19 moves.> Reassuring. Though perhaps your record after my 3...f5 against your Scotch. |

| May-17-07 | | chesstoplay: Hi WannaBe,
I've made reservations at the hotel Atrium for breakfast at 9 AM Saturday. I have a table for 10.
Pass it on to Drdrum.
Yury will be there. I've invited one of my assistant coaches also. Tim Just will be there.
I'll probably invite a few NTDs that I know also.
Let me know if anyone else will join us from chessgames.com. Thanks,
Peter / chesstoplay |
| May-18-07 | | Chess Classics: Thanks much for the offer. But the hotel is in Chicago, right? That's a four-hour drive, and I can't drive yet, would have to talk my Mom into it =/. Too bad, I was looking forward to eating brekky with Yury. Regards,
CC |
