WannaBe: More useless information department, Miami U (+9.5) pulled off the biggest upset since Ohio State (+7.5) beat Alabama on Jan 1 2015 However, this is the 'kicker', Miami was 11.5 favourite over Ohio State in 2003 BCS Championship game, and promptly lost (24-31) ...

May-06-07  chesstoplay: Hey WannaBe,

My idea is to keep it easy and just eat at the hotel.

If there are only a handful of us, breakfast is on me!

I'll talk to Yury Monday night and reconfirm with him as well.

May-08-07  chesstoplay: Hey WannaBe,

We're all set for Saturday morning at the Chicago Open.

Yury will definately be joining us.

Tim Just is also going to join us, so if you have any TD or rules questions bring them along!

We just have to pick a time. I'm going to make reservations.

So get the word out and see if we can get any other chessgame.com folk to join the 5 of us... WannaBe, chesstoplay, Dr. Drum, Tim Just and Yury.

We should have a great time!

Your friend in chess,

Peter / chesstoplay

May-09-07  technical draw: <Wannabe>< I wish my company offers us beer after work...>

When I lived in St. Thomas, USVI, I used to see every morning from my apartment how a pick-up loaded with workers would stop at a small store and the workers would get out and they would come out of the store with a beer in hand and a little bag with extra beer. It was 7:00 am. These were contruction workers working with heavy equipment and under dangerous conditions. I guess the managers figured it was safer to provide the beer and control it then having the workers hide the stuff. Anyway a few beers in the morning makes the day go faster and makes happier workers..Cheers...

WannaBe: Wheeeee!! In the May issue of Chess Life, our team name was printed on page 27, left hand column.

<U1400: CP: Yu Will Fall to the Gs, 2-4>

Yu is my last name, and the 2 G's are Robert and Brett's last names, we left out <DrDum>'s name!!! Bawahahahahahah.....

Yes, we only won 2 pts and lost 4 pts. but still won our section. Go fig... My very first chess prize!! Oh, yeah, CP is Chess Palace, where <DrDum>, Robert, and Brett plays.

May-10-07  Chess Classics: Oh my gawd! They changed what happens when you Google failure! They no longer show the white house homepage! =(

Still, the New York-London directions are a total score =)

Regards,
CC

AHEM! (clearing throat) The last time I checked my drivers liscence my name WAS William Will get it? :=D

May-10-07  WBP: <Wannabe> Saw the Chess Life mention--congratulations! Are you (<Wannabe>, not the team) playing in Chicago? If so, good luck--perhaps you'll do something to merit a second mention!

WannaBe: <WBP> Yes, that ape-avatar boy (<DrDum>) and I will be in Chicago.

<DrDum> Sorry, keep on thinking of you as Bill, instead of Will.

May-10-07  William Shatner: OK, thanks!

Don't worry; no more singing.

May-11-07  Tactic101: I think there are hotels under water. I saw them in an issue of Nat Geo.
May-12-07  Eyal: <WannaBe: <TheAlchemist: 29.h6 has been played. Any suggestions?> 'Push Da Button! Push Da Button!!' Sorry, can't get that song out of my head...>

Yeah, it does have this kind of effect, doesn't it... there were quite a lot of arguments in Israel about whether this song is any good or just plain silly.
