  jessicafischerqueen: Hi <MannBee> does <Hot Fuzz> have <drift racing> in it?

<Jessica of the Dead>

(did you like the raining frogs? They are quite fly)

jessicafischerqueen: Oh wait that means you <Went to the Theatre>!!

This should have been a <What movie would <<<<MannBee>>>> actually bother going to see in the movie theatre> trivia question.

WannaBe: Okay, a friend of mine came back from Czech Rep. and got me a T-shirt, on the front, it says Praha - User's Manual. (See Pic) http://mysite.verizon.net/jyu1/Prah...

Are you suppose to drink the whole beer at once? If no, do you 'have' to toast each time? Do you 'slam' the glass when you do this? (step 4) and is this only a Czech tradition?

Answer(s) will be much appreciated. =)

jessicafischerqueen: Heh good link there <MannBee>.

Maybe those <beer drinking instructions> would come in very handy after someone was on their <13th pint> or something.

It's certainly a fine T-shirt design.

WannaBe: <jessicafischerqueen> I saw "Hot Fuzz" on DVD. I did want to, and intended to see it in theatres, but knowning it's got British English, I was much afraid I'd miss much of the dialog amidst the laughing audiences.

So, I opted to watch it at home, and still did not catch all the words. (Especially that old guy who mumbles, and I think he was speaking in Welsh, maybe Ol' Gaelic...)

Have you seen it?

jessicafischerqueen: No, but I saw <Shaun of the Dead> and liked it very much.

I also have trouble with the accents, and it's the same two main actors in <Hot Fuzz>.

I think they should <subtitle> these films.

I saw some <Mike Leigh> films that have characters with strong British accents and some parts were subtitled.

WannaBe: <jessicafischerqueen> How much beer is in a <pint> ?? (your previous post) =) I've been in bars, and drank my fair share, but I've never ordered a <pint> of beer. Bwahahaha...

I loved <Shaun of the Dead>, I think in part, is because I enjoy stupid zombie and stupid sci-fi movies, where I scratch my head and say: "That is physically impossible!!"

Speaking of Brish English, you seen 'Snatch'? And the 'language' that Brad Pitt was speakiing?

I thought "Lock, Stock, and Two Smokin' Barrels" was hard to understand...

Aug-06-07  dabearsrock1010: speaking of raining frogs, it happens in the movie magnolia

jessicafischerqueen: <MannBee> there is subtitles in parts of <Lock Stock>.

I love <Guy Ritchie> movies except for that stinker he made with his stupid wife.

Good grief.

A "pint" is "half a quart".

Heh.

Or, one eighth of a gallon.

Now, these are all <different weights>:

ton, tonne, and metric ton.

Who knew?

<DaBears> yes, I watched <Magnolia> last night that's why I was researching <frog rain>.

So it really does happen.

Who knew?

jessicafischerqueen: Heh a <schooner> is a giant boat!!

My hat's off to your <beer quaffing> abilities.

Though it should come as no surprise that a noted <superhero> has <super beer drinking powers>

  jessicafischerqueen: <save the forest> heh...

Is this an example of <ecoterrorism>?

I have a T-shirt that says <Cut Down All the Trees and use them to Beat the Whales to Death With>.

Or, in my imagination I have this T-shirt.

WannaBe: Funny, mine says <Cut Down All the Trees and use them to Beat Baby Seals>.
Aug-07-07  Eyal: In my imagination, I have a T-shirt that says <Let the (non-tasty) Animals Live!>.

That's a slightly modified version of a T-shirt by PETA [People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals], produced by PETA [People Eating Tasty Animals].

WannaBe: Almost forgot, Happy 10 Years at my present work!! I joined this company shortly after graduation. So, this is my first/only real job I've had. (Not counting working in bars on weekends... =)

I remember that, when I first joined, my computer was running Windows 97, with 256 RAM, and it was a pentium II processor. Now, I'm using a Windows 3.11 on a 128 RAM and using a 386 processor... How time regresses.

We also got 10 new office cubicles installed, I think they're gonna get rid of me and hire 10 new people to do my job. =)

  WannaBe: Personal Rant...

A-Rod got hit by a pitch in the 3rd inning, R. Clemens retaliates (?) in the <7th!!> inning.

That's just pure crap, utter &#(*$!. I remember (still) the days where pitchers would hit the first batter the very next inning!

Plus knowning how old Clemens is, and he's usually on a pitch count anyway, to do it at a stage of the game where he's gonna come out soon anyway, <PLUS> the Yankees were ahead 7-0, is just (utterly) disgusting.

It is really too bad that in the AL pitchers don't get to step up to the plate and hit...

jessicafischerqueen: I have to agree <MannBee>. If you take <brushing back the pitcher> out of Baseball, what's left?

Just this: the last sound you hear before falling asleep in the summer-

<And Canseco fouls the 34th pitch off the 1st base line...>

Aug-09-07  NakoSonorense: I got a copy of the 1st HP book today, but I'm going to put it away for a few days before I finish reading something else.

For over a year, I've been wanting to read Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond and I finally could get my hands on it yesterday. I'm taking it really slow, so I'll probably finish it on Sunday and then read HP.
