WannaBe: <CIO> LOL. I remember those mems... <chancho> North by Norwest, totally agree, the audiences know that the plane scene was filmed earlier and played on a screen behind. It was still drama. Same thing with the Mt. Rushmore chase scene.

WannaBe: Another fun day down at the joint, we made some good money today, quite a crowd, (usually, Wednesday night is busy, 2 for 1 burger night at the pub)

I'm still 'scared', because I have not received any bills yet, (You know, this 30 day billing cycles...) Can't wait to get my food/beer distributor's bill.

Got an ad in this Friday's local newspaper, about the Sunday's Super Bowl, and this Friday is the 1st (Payday for some people!!), also Friday, which should also be another good day for the business. But things are OK, looking pretty good.

Also, now, I can 'see' why people sell their business, you can get burned out, and I MEAN <BURNED OUT> fast, very fast!!

WannaBe: You know, there are days where I actually <DO> miss the 8-5 regular job, instead of being the 'boss'.

Making decisions, (usually relatively small ones, that don't require me to sit there and do long analysis of a software's life cycle =)

But man, I tell ya, it's not a piece of cake. Hopefully things will settle down after a few weeks.

Have to be back at the joint in about 8 hours, Dish Network guys are coming out to setup my new TV connections...

They said they will be there between 9 AM and Noon... So think I'll just go down there with my newspaper/book and read until they show up.

WannaBe: Make a long story short, I've got a reason to kick the 'habit', and it's Andrea.

She used to smoke, but not anymore, very lovely gal...

Jan-31-08  Open Defence: who's <Andrea> :) ....
Jan-31-08  whiskeyrebel: Hey, I may just pop into your bar in drag one of these nights...be looking for me or you may miss me..
Jan-31-08  whiskeyrebel: more specifically, I'll be wearing a Texas muu muu...(sp?)

Ms. Andrea, she claims to speak five languages, so far, I've only confirmed her fluency in English, but she also claims to be fluent/knows French, Spanish, German, and Italian.

She said she lived in Europe for a number of years, did some opera singing, have a 4 octive range...

31 years of age, some Russian blood in her, (I'm guessin' mother's side, because her last name is really quite 'English')...

Jan-31-08  Open Defence: <.... some Russian blood in her....> Ok I expect you will be of GM strength and playing the Petroff in a couple of months time :)

Either that, or I'll be singing 'Carmen' with her! =)

Jan-31-08  technical draw: This forum I can understand . Not like JFQ forum which is in a strange language. Here I know that wannabe has a bar, a Russian girlfriend, a terrible PC (Go Mac) and other intellectual things. By the way I didn't catch the name of the bar. (?)

WannaBe: <technical draw: ... By the way I didn't catch the name of the bar. (?)>

EXACTLY!!! Don't want you to be doing some one-baby stand up!

Jan-31-08  technical draw: <Wannabe> Welcome to the computer age. It'll take me just a few minutes to know the name of your bar, the address and how much you owe the bank. (And I won't even use my contacts at the CIA). I'll go there incognito and start a fight and give your bar a bad reputation (if you don't allow me to do my stand-up, that is).

I thought it was just cows passing gas!

Jan-31-08  technical draw: <WannaBe> Some years back PBS did a great documentary on how Los Angeles got water. Check it out, it's well worth watching....TD

WannaBe: I saw Chinatown, I know how L.A. gets its water! It falls down from the sky...
Jan-31-08  technical draw: Umm. It was about how Los Angeles got water when LA only had 2 buildings.
Jan-31-08  NakoSonorense: A polyglot? Nice find, wannabe! Congrats! My ex knew 5 languages, too. The same ones as your girfriend with the exception of Italian, she knew Latin instead.

Those are hard to find... Im keeping my eyes wide open but I still haven't found another one who knows more than 2...

Jan-31-08  technical draw: Wannabe's girlfriend is a polyglot? Hmmm, maybe I better stay away from that bar!
Feb-01-08  meloncio: <td><...Not like JFQ forum which is in a strange language...> Don't you understand it? Happy to know that. Me neither, but I thought it was due to my poor English.
Feb-01-08  Open Defence: <Not like JFQ forum which is in a strange language> strange language or strange people ?

btw Hi Meloncio!! long time no chat!

Feb-01-08  technical draw: I won my first tournament at QA. I post it here to inspire Wannabe to continue playing. (either that or to rub it in!)
Feb-01-08  meloncio: <Open Defence> Hi, nice to see you too! I read you from time to time, and now I know (according to technical draw) that you are Anand's sister :-)
Feb-01-08  Open Defence: <I know (according to technical draw) that you are Anand's sister :-)> for all you know I could be Aruna
