 | | WannaBe: Tricks of the 'Bidness', always ask your beer supplier for stuff, coasters, napkins, display board (dry-eraser type) banners, ads, etc... They are more than happy to give you stuff!! I got 2 special boards, one with Corona, the other with Pacifico nicely painted on a wooden board, raffled them off at half-time of the Super Bowl. Also got a free neon sign for Firestone, and also raffled that off, customers were quite happy about it. (And didn't cost me anything... =) |

| Feb-04-08 | | Open Defence: <Why do you think they call her legs?> hmmm looking for some shoe prints ? |
| Feb-04-08 | | NakoSonorense: Sure, we can meet again.
Only problem is that on Wed I have class from 9AM to 11AM and then from 1PM to 4PM I've got something to do after 4PM, so maybe you could come around 11AM, hang out a couple of hours and then go to class... Does that work for you? |
| Feb-04-08 | | brankat: <NakoSonorense> The most gratifying thing for a student is to skip classes, and spend some time in a friendly Pub & Grill instead :-) |
| Feb-04-08 | | NakoSonorense: <brankat> Awfully tempting... But first things first. There will be time a plenty for all that stuff in the future... |

 | | WannaBe: Being personal-able...
I am having the barstools/restaurant seats refurbished, the old ones are just crap, falling apart... The guy who is doing it, is a good friend of mind, pool player, known him for ages... We keep it strickly business, I pay, he refurbishes for me, and I throw in an extra burger or two... Have to be personal-able in this bidness... Have to. |
| Feb-06-08 | | brankat: In other words You are on a big spending trip. Watch out for an eventual big financial hangover :-) |

 | | WannaBe: <brankat> I'm very careful... I have my spreadsheet updated on a daily basis, I keep track of my $$$ very, very carefully. C'mon, it's a 'bidness'!! :-)) |
| Feb-06-08 | | meloncio: <WannaBe><Have to be personal-able in this bidness... Have to.> I'm not sure whether I understood it. Do you mean that you have to be patient, generous, tolerant, etc, at work? If so, that's true in many other aspects/'bidness' of life, don't you think? For instance, I'm working in a chemical laboratory and have to be personal-able too.. everyday! But I recognize that I'm not the owner and you will say that this is a capital difference :-) |

| Feb-06-08 | | Open Defence: <<brankat> I'm very careful... I have my spreadsheet updated on a daily basis, I keep track of my $$$ very, very carefully.
C'mon, it's a 'bidness'!! :-))> the very mention of $$$ will get <technical draw> back in here.. but don't worry I got my gals scouting the place |
Feb-06-08
 | | WannaBe: <meloncio> That's part of it, besides those, I'm quite a conversationlist, can talk about a wide range of things, and keep the customers entertained... I also remember what the customers do, and often connections and networkings helps too! =) |
| Feb-06-08 | | technical draw: Did somebody mention $$$?? |
Feb-06-08
 | | WannaBe: No, it was a typo, I was talking about %%%. |
Feb-06-08
 | | WannaBe: I know, with the advances in technology, 'older' things are being replaced, (Have you tried to find a phone booth to change into your cape, lately?) But Chess Clubs are hurting (according to this article...) http://main.uschess.org/content/vie... So... Boycott ICC?? =) |
| Feb-07-08 | | JoeWms: <WannaBe: with the advances in technology, 'older' things are being replaced.> What mean 'older' things, Kemosabe, hah?
| Feb-07-08 | | evenua: <Wannabe: Both side would have minor piece developed, and a pawn out, by retreating the queen, is that really better than taking?> Maybe you want to search games here: http://www.chesslive.de I found 22 games in which 7.Qxf6 Nxf6 was played. 8 wins for White, 4 losses and 10 draws. I've never seen this played in GM level, though.. maybe because it is equalized very soon (at move 7!), as you said. |

| Feb-07-08 | | Open Defence: HAPPY NEW YEAR! |

| Feb-07-08 | | brankat: Thank You. And the same to You :-) |

| Feb-07-08 | | brankat: At first I thought You were joking, then I realized it was actually Chinese New Year :-) Happy New Year to YU Jimmy!!! |
Feb-07-08
 | | WannaBe: <Open Defence> & <brankat> Thanks guys!! Since it is the year of the rat, that kitty avatar is pretty 'scary'! |
| Feb-07-08 | | chessmoron: <WannaBe> So you still have to wait three years for Year of the Bugs Bunny. In Vietnam, 2011 will be Year of the Brankat. |
| Feb-07-08 | | brankat: <chessmoron> <In Vietnam, 2011 will be Year of the Brankat.> Wow! I've never heard of this one before. In this case, I better try to take good care of my health, to hang on for another 3 years! |
Feb-07-08
 | | WannaBe: Of course, you will, you and <JoeWms> will be going typing away 'going' at each other! =) |
