Feb-12-08  NakoSonorense: That's Italian for:

"I want a man who's not a big-mouth or I want to be a virgin until death"

Premium Chessgames Member
WannaBe: I'm gonna guess that 'big-mouth' means talk, talk, talk, not literally a 'big-mouth'

Thank you <NakoSonorense>, did not know you speak Italian! =)

Feb-13-08  brankat: You sure are learning a lot of useful things in bar business ;-)

WannaBe: <brankat> Yes, I've learned that <NakoSonorense> have an understanding of Italian!

Maybe when he meets Andrea, they can speak Italian to each other...

Feb-13-08  brankat: Fortunately enough, You don't believe the "quote" :-)
Feb-13-08  meloncio: <WannaBe> I like the little add in your profile. :)

  WannaBe: <brankat> Thanks! =)
Feb-15-08  NakoSonorense: No, no... Even though I understand some Italian, I'm still far from being fluent or from being able to keep up a long conversation.

Anyway, hope you and Andrea had a nice evening last night, you son of a gun. =)

WannaBe: Nope, I had to work, and she had plans, but she did come in to see me and had dinner at my pub.

Gave her a dozen roses, and that was about it.

Feb-15-08  brankat: <WannaBe> <...but she did come in to see me and had dinner at my pub.>

Did she leave You a good tip? :-)

  WannaBe: Nope, didn't even pay!
Feb-16-08  whiskeyrebel: time to put "Women" by Charles Bukowski on your reading list perhaps. He lived out his final years just a few miles from where you're stationed. Are there any Buk fans out there reading this?
Feb-16-08  euripides: <whisky> do you know Raymond Carver's poem about Bukowski ?
Feb-16-08  whiskeyrebel: I've read a reasonable amount of Carver and know they were pals..but don't recall reading a poem about him. Do you have a link handy? Incidently, I grew up in the region Carver eventually settled in and wrote about.
Feb-16-08  euripides: <whisky> to the best of my memory it's about 4 pages long and describes Bukowski's behaviour addressing a group students. It's a riot. It's quite early in Carver's trajectory, before the last ten years when he sobered up and settled down. I don't have a link but will have a look.
Feb-16-08  euripides: <whisky> It's in Carver's 'Collected Poems'. It turns out there is a text on the internet at

http://www.ljfind.com/post/109129478/

Feb-17-08  whiskeyrebel: euripides, thanks for the link. I enjoyed it. Carver's at the top of my "need to read more of" list as soon as I finish the time consuming hoop jumping to earn my degree.I'm very impressed to encounter a literate person here in my buddy Wannabe's forum (hee hee).

WannaBe: <brankat> I am a 'nice' guy, and I treat people 'nicely'... But I am not receiving the 'compliment(s)' that I feel I deserve.....

To be quite honest, I treat/pay my help(s) well, and if I see any 'monkey business' going on, I <WILL> take the 'appropriate' action(s)...

Either way, the problems or my 'cancers' will be resolved, and here is a 'shout out' to <suenteus po 147> =)

USS Enterprise have its <Captain> and, the ship is in good 'hands' now, I have my <Sulu>, <Chekov>, and my <Dr. McCoy> and most of all, I have my XO, <Mr. Spock>

From now on, it's warp 10+, and we're gonna go where <NO ONE> have gone before!!! =)

Make it so, Mr. Crusher!!!

I am still waiting for <DrDum> to post his opinions/comments on the new FOX show, Sarah Conner Chronicles... =)

Apparently, it's chess related, so he told me. :-)))
