Apr-05-08  playground player: <WannaBe> NOBODY ever comes home poor from holding national office! "Washington D.C been very, very good to me!"
Apr-05-08  NakoSonorense: Damn! We lost... =[
Apr-05-08  chessmoron: It's time to focus on the pros.

WannaBe: <NakoSonorense> Utterly disappointing, 3 straight final 4 appearance, and nothing (National Championship) to show for...

Then again, only UCLA, can hold their coach and players to such high standards, any other school would be jumping for joys for making 3 straight final 4 appearances...

Next year, just like them Cubs fan says...

WannaBe: Woo Hoo!! Next round, here I come, (See what happens when I don't play fellow CG.com members?? I win! =)
Apr-06-08  NakoSonorense: Dissapointining indeed.

But please, don't compare UCLA with the Cubs! They're a lost cause (sorry <cu8sfan>)... 100 years without a championship? And God knows how many more are still ahead... No, no!

As <chessmoron> said, time to focus on the pros now.

Go LAKERS! Go ANGELS!

Apr-06-08  NakoSonorense: That should be read "disappointing" xD

WannaBe: Regarding my previous post, for the 37th GameKnot tournament, Intermediate level, Round 2, group 168, I am the winner. On to round 3! :-)
Apr-08-08  brankat: <WannaBe> Congratulations buddy!

WannaBe: From ESPN: <No team has won the World Series after losing its first six games.>

But how about losing its first seven games? Hello Detroit?! You reading this? =)

Apr-09-08  brankat: I'd say it would be about time the phrase is changed from the "World Series" to the "USA Series" :-)
Apr-09-08  Robin01: <I'd say it would be about time the phrase is changed from the "World Series" to the "USA Series">What about TORONTO (Blue Jays)?
Apr-10-08  brankat: <Robin01> I've been wondering if anyone was going to notice the (minor) slip :-)

Should have known it was to take a sharp analyst with a sense of the attention to detail to argue the case :-)

On the other hand, considering how the USA views Canada (and just about everybody else), "the USA Series" would still seem to be a valid phrase.

WannaBe: Canada isn't a part of U.S. (yet)??
Apr-10-08  brankat: <WannaBe> <Canada isn't a part of U.S. (yet)??>

If G.W. had a chance for the third term, it would be for sure.

Since they (the candidates) in the end all turn out to be more or less the same, there is still a good chance that the USA may eventually join the Canadian Federation :-)

WannaBe: Hey! Anyone interested in buying an 'slightly used' tank? http://blog.wired.com/defense/2008/...

WannaBe: So, a friend of mine recommended craiglist as an avenue of advertisement for my pub & grill, spent the last 45 minutes or so checking it out... (I know, I know, I'm behind the times here...)

<MAN>!! There are some 'strange' postings on there... freaky, freak'n people! I tell ya... Not like the looney tune crowd that I hang out with here. =))

Apr-10-08  NakoSonorense: <There are some 'strange' postings on there> Examples?
Apr-11-08  brankat: <WannaBe> So You could buy Your own F-14!

The IRS wouldn't dare to ask You for tax payments any more :-) And You could have Sally retired. To save on gasoline :-)

A tank would come handy around the Bar closing time, when customers usually want to hang around for a while longer. Also during some sports broadcasts.

WannaBe: <NakoSonorense> I can't post the links here, if you know what I 'mean'... =)

<brankat> Becareful, I just may buy one of them jets/tanks and drive them to Vancouver!! (If you know what I mean?! =)

So, I get this e-mail from LinkedIn, and I clicked on the link, and I still can't do diddly squat (@#$%), I'm beginning to think the site is so complicated, that I can't figure it out, or it's just a scam...

Apr-11-08  brankat: <WannaBe> < I'm beginning to think the site is so complicated, that I can't figure it out, or it's just a scam...>

Sounds like it's one of those sites that should to be avoided, and their e-mails deleted.

WannaBe: Really?! No kidding!! Man, this guy is a genius! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080412...
Apr-12-08  brankat: Seems to me they are all lousy choices. Just a matter of degrees:

-- lousy

-- lousier

-- the lousiest

The tough part is to figure which adjective to assign to who :-)
