May-24-08  NakoSonorense: Dusty Springfield - I Only Want To Be With You

Great song! This is the first time I hear it but for some strange reason it seemed to me that I had already heard it before... Weird.

Anyway, do you have some more of those classics songs? I feel that I don't know anything about music of the past.

Perhaps you can illuminate me a bit on what I have missed.

May-25-08  brankat: <NakoSonorense> You can start with J.S.Bach, late 17 century, and work Your way to up until some 4-5 years ago. You have missed 300 years of some great stuff. Practically, You've missed out on everything :-)

Now You need to make sure to live for at least 3 centuries to make up for the loss :-)

  TheAlchemist: <brankat> Hehe, nice. Although I'm not sure he meant exactly that :-). Anyway, yes, as far as classical music is concerned, it's probably best to start with the "canonical" composers and their most popular works and then slowly work your way through more.

<NakoSonorense>

Here, check this out, this should give you enough to do for a while:

May-25-08  Red October: for classical music I recommend Mozart as his compositions have a lighter feel, at worst you can keep it soft in the background though in my book that's a crime
May-25-08  technical draw: Forget Mozart if you're going to start listening to classical music start with Tchaikovsky and Chopin...TD
May-25-08  brankat: Or, to make it closer to home, start with The Beatles!

  WannaBe: I would like to take a moment, to honor those, who made the ultimate sacrifice, on this Memorial Day, 2008.
May-26-08  brankat: I second that!

In Canada we have in on November 11th. Rememberence Day.

  WannaBe: <brankat> Yes, that's when the First Big One ended, the 11th month, 11th hour, 11th minute... Quite a few country have Nov. 11th as their Remembrance Day.
May-26-08  brankat: <WannaBe> To think that in my previous post I was almost tempted to include the rationale for the date :-)
May-26-08  NakoSonorense: <brankat> <You can start with J.S.Bach, late 17 century> Nah... that's not possible... they didn't have mp3's back then. There was no way to record/save his music!

I didn't mean classical music (Bach, Beethoven, Chopin...) YUCK. I don't like that... They make me fall asleep.

<ElAlquimista> Grazie! Quello cercavo. I've heard some of those songs, but there are many that I didn't know. They will keep me busy for a while. Thanks!
