| Oct-17-08 | | brankat: <WannaBe> They may have changed the rules. I lost a total of ten points (the opponent was about 200 points higher rated). And the games count in the current tournament standings. The guy now has 2 points out of two games, and I, 0 out of two :-) You can check it under <brankat15>, either in the "games history" or "tournaments" (43rd..expert section). In one mini-tourney last year I lost all 6 games on time without making a single move@! I was wrong about the start date of the tournament by 1 week :-) Cost me almost a 100 points. That's why I'm still hovering around 1,800. |

| Oct-18-08 | | Open Defence: <WannaBe: Wheeee!!! I am the wiener of the 49th GK.com, Intermediate section, group 343!!
I'm gonna take on the winner of Anand-Kramnik Match!!
> congratulations!!! |
| Oct-18-08 | | chessamateur: Speaking of Gameknot, is the site down or something? |
| Oct-18-08 | | Open Defence: < chessamateur > I am online there right now, so no I dont think its down |
| Oct-18-08 | | chessamateur: <OD> Odd, I hadn't been able to get to it for days and now it's suddenly up again. |
| Oct-18-08 | | Open Defence: maybe some local settings on your computer perhaps ? I am online quite regularly there so I dont remember a down time, unless it was a local ISP issue |
| Oct-18-08 | | chessamateur: <OD> I'm not sure what the problem was, I'm not much for computers. All I know is its fixed now. <Wannabe> Damn Boston. I put my faith In the Rays winning, even as they were inexplicably blowing the lead. It's all you fault the Evil Empire II is still alive. I'm sure humanity is quite happy. |

 | | WannaBe: <chessamateur> I've been on GK.com everyday, and have not noticed any connection problems. Without knowning where you are connecting from (School, work, home, free Hot-Spots, etc...) I don't think I can begin to diagnose your problem... However, with what <Open Defence> posted, I have to (guess) say that the problem is on your side. I have seen, on occassion, that GK.com have had server problem, and they always post a page that tells everyone, and the games in progress have their clock suspended, until the problem is resolved. |
| Oct-19-08 | | chessamateur: <Wannabe> It was probably me, but thankfully it works fine now. |
| Oct-20-08 | | brankat: Tampa's first appearance in the World Series! Good luck! |
| Oct-23-08 | | whiskeyrebel: You can't blame the players, but dropping the world "devil" from the team name is pretty wimpy. |
Oct-23-08
 | | WannaBe: Not overly concerned with game 1, Tampa also lost game 1 to Boston, and won the series. Keeping my fingers crossed for game 2. |

| Oct-26-08 | | yoozum: Hey, glad to see you're still around. I just bought myself another premium membership and will try to return to semi-regular kibitzing here. |

 | | WannaBe: <yoozum> Glad to hear back from you. Yes, old cg.com members never die, we just keep playing for the 50-move draw. =) Since you've been gone, I've bought a Pub & Grill, (probably at the worst possible time, and I think, I know economics...) Things/business/U.S. economy are suffering, and myself included..... But, I think I will (try) to tough it out, since all the people that I talk to are in the same boat that I am. Glad to have/hear from you on cg.com again. The <City of Moscow> page misses you!!! |
| Oct-27-08 | | yoozum: I might consider doing a City of Moscow once more, but no inspiration right now. Congratulations on the pub, but that really does suck with the financial crisis. I, myself, am searching for jobs in the financial sector, even though it's probably the worst sector to find a job in now. If I were at your pub right now, I already know that I'd order whatever is closest to a half-pound burger, no cheese, with some mushrooms. Probably some fries on the side, all washed down with a nice Heineken. I'm sure there's something like that there ;-) |

| Nov-15-08 | | brankat: In last couple of weeks, or so, I had a few games where the opponents waited until, almost the checkmate. Yesterday one finally resigned when he lost the second Rook. I had 2 Rooks and 4 pawns he 2 pawns :-) On the other hand, some players (no names mentioned) have a habit of resigning too early :-) |
