WannaBe: <unferth> In my not so humble and (very, very, very) biased opinion, let Kershaw pitch. The fans will appreciate his effort and dedication to LAD. Especially tonight; the game is virtually 'lost' for all intent and purposes. But there is game 5 tomorrow. Truely last chance for

WannaBe: Just raise the minimum wage to $100/hour end hunger, homelessness, and people being poor. Everyone will have plenty of money to buy homes and feed family. I'm ready to receive my Nobel Prize in Economics in 2026. If that doesn't fix the problem, raise min wage to $1,000/hour.

WannaBe: <jessicafischerqueen: Right now the score for "best informed" is <achieve> 4 and <malthrope> 4. I urge you all to consider your votes carefully.>

Incorrect, it's 5 to 4...

  jessicafischerqueen: Hi <MannBee>!

Well I won't question the "official count" given the scandals caused last year by me and TD and Deffi on the "Funniest kibbutz" category...

I think TD still disputes last year's count, and, ironically, remains unaware that he actually won.

I suppose that's pretty funny, making him a worthy winner again this year.

jessicafischerqueen: <MannBee> lol I have exactly the same count as you and in addition I was teasing you.

These awards are a time to remember and celebrate the <achieve>ments of our CG.com peers- and we are all very grateful to you for all the work you put in on the Caissar awards.

It is a festive occasion for a festive season.

Jan-06-10  technical draw: <I think TD still disputes last year's count, and, ironically, remains unaware that he actually won.>

Thank you JFQ. I now unconcede any conceding I conceded last year and with this year's win that will make it a threepeat. However <malthrope>'s double-double is awesome. And you are right, this is a fun way to celebrate the end of year with all our friends and just the being nominated is a form of recognition. So thank you <WannaBe> for all the effort you put into this and if you need any money just let me know and I'll send you some job offers.

And, of course we all know who the REAL funniest kibbitzer is, right? (wink-wink)

Jan-06-10  malthrope: Official Voting Caissar awards in Round #5. :)

Well before I begin... As I'd promised <Red October> (aka: <Open Defense>) the following...

<RO covers all the bases... :) Ditto that last remark!> -- <"MuM" is now the <<only>> word with Mal :P>>

This back to her comment, <"Red October: <and I promise not to question the vote count...

as long as the Commies win...">>

This took place in my return of post <Dec 15th> here.

Also, having kept a complete file of all events that transpired from last years Caissar awards. ;)

Anyhoo, having said all that I was contemplating placing my vote for: <perceyblakeney>, <acirce>, <Eyal> or <DCP23>, for *Best Informed* this year. Only <one> of them has *not* received a vote thus far...

______________________________________

*Best Informed* - <DCP23>

When it comes to Chess events held in Russia, he has no peers! :)

*Best Pun* - <No Country for Old Men>

Quite befitting for an old codger like me. ~lol~ Besides, it keeps a hotly contested race with <Hou Wears Short's Shorts> :P

______________________________________

I do hope <achieve> wins for, *Best Informed*, as he's several votes ahead now anyway. ;)

I'm sure he knows that he has something even more valuable than my vote...

He has my friendship! :XD

'nuff said.

My Best Always, - Mal

PS: Note: When I begin constructing this post over an hour ago this vote was not yet cast <amadeus: Best Informed: tpstar & DCP23> so, now I'm simply adding to it. ;)

"Naming Notes"-

Some refer to this as a <Pawn Nail>, or a <Thorn Pawn>. The noted youtube chess video annotator Tryfon Gavriel- known as <Kingscrusher>- calls them <Thorn Pawns>. However, Tryfon has a heavy English accent, so we thought he was saying <Fawn Pawns>.

heh...

So we've been calling them <Fawn Pawns> all year. >
