WannaBe: Interesting 'situation', because it did not happen, but let's play what if... 4th qtr with 4:36 left, the receiver/runner is by the side line and the ball is stripped. If a defender ran out of bounds (because of momentum, not pushed or forced out) by rule, he/she/it/them/us cannot ...

WannaBe: Another not important thing that I noticed, as a premium member when I visit ChessGames.com Statistics Page page, I see ads. Not that a big deal. Sure CG.com have more important things to fix.

WannaBe: <OhioChessFan> I have not received any answer(s) to my question, I believe and judge it to be a relatively difficult one, because I do not understand/know how the underlying Java Code is working. (It is a black box...)

(Kinda like click 'send' for an e-mail, but not knowing where/how it gets there; but I do know how an e-mail works/gets there...)

If you can pass it on, and possibly achieve a clue/hint for me, so that I may proceed, that would be absolutely wonderful!!

I'll even name my next 'gambit' after Elvis, and I'll call it the King's Gambit!

WannaBe: In yet another informative post of 'Did You Know?'

In the Big South Conference, Virginia Military Institute is known as the Keydets, (no, that's not a typo by me.)

And the Presbyterians are known as the Blue Hose. Woo, that sounds scary, I am shaking in my 'Blue Hose' already. I wonder what the two teams mascot looks like... Can anyone find pics and help us out?

WannaBe: On the night that Tampa Bay clinched a spot in the play-offs, less than 1/2 of the stadium was occupied. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/boxsc...

I think the Rays should consider moving to another city.

Sep-28-10  midknightblue: sorry been away from chessgames a while. Thx for the comment wannabe. If you are at 1400 then that is pretty good. I think you were competing in a lower section when we met up in Vegas if I recall correctly, so you are prolly making slow and steady progress. I had a provisional in 1600's after a draw to a master in my first tourney, but then the brutality of chess tourney life hit me and I quickly discovered that there are some pretty touch chess players - with super low ratings but much higher skills. Anyway after a couple tourneys I hit a nadir below 1400 and since then it has been a slow and steady climb. Gained like 170 points in my last 3 tournaments (and I am somewhere in the mid 1500's now I think).

Whiskey how are you? We met in Vegas when Wannabe introduced us. I am not sure buy I have a vague memory of seeing someone (possibly you) sitting at your tourney board with a brewski in hand, perhaps at a tourney prior to the one where Wannabe introduced us. Anyway, if you are cutting back on the alcohol then best of luck to you and hope your chess study continues to go well. If you are not cutting back - well then cheers.

  WannaBe: Hello! Stranger!!

You still on the Island?? So glad you dropped by to say hi. Hope everything is well.

You do have to watch out for the 'lower' rated players in OTB, some, but not all, play up to prove a point, or two, but most of them, me included, are quite beatable. =)

WannaBe: Pillow fight of the week, Univ. of New Mexico @ New Mexico State Univ. One team will 'claim' their first victory of the season.

I am rooting for State, because Coach Walker is an ex-Bruins assistant. (State -3, for home field.)

Little Big Horn of the week, Oregon @ Washington State. I don't think all that red that the Cougs wear will be able to hide the blood-shed. (Ducks -36.5)

WannaBe: You know, if she bought it in October, where New York starts to get cold (See that freakin' storm before the start of Jets-Vikings game?! Pretty good one.) I would not be surprised, it gets pretty darn cold in New York.

Not quite as bad as -20 (without windchill) in the Dakotas, but I digress...

WannaBe: This week's pillow fight game, Florida International (1-4) at North Texas (1-5). While on the Pro side of things, we have Dallas Cowboys (1-3) at Minnesota Vikings (1-3), who'd thunk that these two would be doing this bad?!

Also, this week's Little Big Horn game, McNeese State at #9 LSU, also #3 Boise State at San Jose State.

Oct-13-10  hangingenprise: i'm shocked, shocked mine you, that a ucla athletes would accept donations from a nice agent.
