WannaBe: Congratulations to the Dominican Republic, undefeated in the World Baseball Classic.

Not even the (previous) two-time defending champion Japan can claim they went undefeated.

I got a great idea, let's have a wax statue of J. Wooden, and have a recording of his speeches and coaching technique.

Guaranteed success.

Mar-24-13  NakoSonorense: And maybe also clone Lew Alcindor.
Mar-24-13  Jim Bartle: But even Lew would only stay for one year.

chancho: Speaking of Alcindor, he looked mighty silly in that diving show on ABC called: <Splash>.
Mar-24-13  Jim Bartle: Yeah, when he was walking on the bottom in the deep end and his was above the water.

WannaBe: I know it's barely into the 2nd Qtr, but boy, the Flakers are playing horrible. HORRIBLE!

Mar-26-13  BishopofBlunder: I would like to join the team, but I haven't won the minimum number of rated games (5) required to join a team. Give me some time and I'll be back.

WannaBe: O glorious day, them Flakers defeated Mia.!!

Oh, wait, it's Min?!

Mar-28-13  NakoSonorense: The Lakers got away with this one. Kobe fouled Rubio with 0.5 seconds left, which would've given the Wolves a chance to tie the game.
Mar-29-13  hms123: <WannaBe> The system restore worked like a charm. I am glad to be rid of the problem. Thanks a million.
Mar-30-13  Jim Bartle: Have you seen the new UCLA coach, wannabe?

WannaBe: Great, we got Alford E. Neumann.
Mar-30-13  Jim Bartle: What I don't understand is how the players are held to strict standards, but coaches aren't. Alford coached one year at New Mexico, signed a ten-year deal a couple of weeks ago, then broke it to go with the Broons.

And the New Mexico players he recruited? They have to sit out a year if they transfer, and in any case won't play for the coach who recruited them.

Alford isn't the only one, just the latest.

WannaBe: <Jim Bartle> I believe the incoming kids can change their mind, and the school (UNM) will release them from the signing agreement.

The existing kids, that's different, it's not like a school is going on probation (USC, Penn St., Ohio St., etc and they can transfer without penalty. 'Less they want to transfer down to D-II.)

NCAA (competition committee) should really look into this and 'penalize' the coach too. If you go from D-I to D-I, you have to sit out a year, if you change school within conference, it's two. (That is how I remembered for players...)
