WannaBe: <perfidious> Hehheheh I was in on of those pools, number of years; lots of fun, only 5 bux/week to enter, no one gets 'hurts'. And the house/bar buys you a beer when you participate. (They know you will sit there for just a 'few' more cold ones) Now, those elimination pools on

WannaBe: Kings win, going to play Rangers in the Cup Final!!!!
Jun-01-14  Jim Bartle: Chicago announcers claim Kings' tying fourth goal was way offside. In fact they were calling offside before the goal was scored.
Jun-02-14  Mating Net: That was the best series I have ever seen, congrats to both Kings & Hawks.

perfidious: It would be a shock if Rangers-Kings did not go seven, with an O/U of 4.5 in every game. Tight and tough all the way.

WannaBe: It would be amazing, if Kings pull off 4 series game 7 wins on the road. =))

Kings are the first team to have played 21 games and to be in the Cup Final, the other 2 teams lost game 7 in the conference finals.

Jun-02-14  Jim Bartle: From what I understand the Rangers depend a lot on the "blue seaters" in MSG. Working class types. Sound like those people are largely going to be priced out of going to the games, and it will change the atmosphere in the arena.

Great story in Sports Illustrated by George Plimpton a few year ago on the fan in the blue seats. They always harassed Carol Alt sitting beside the ice. So Plimpton took her up to the blue seats to visit.

What's your prediction Bugsy?

WannaBe: Okay, 2-2 end of 2, as Vin S. would say, "Deuces' Wild!".

Time to put the fish in the oven and start my din-din.

Jun-04-14  Jim Bartle: Ha! I can't picture Scully calling a hockey game. Hockey announcers need to be hyper.

  WannaBe: I smell 5OT...
Jun-04-14  Mating Net: I say Jeff Carter or Carl Hagelin to pot the winner.

WannaBe: I told my buds the final would 4-3 Kings, with Kopitar score the winner.

Well, the score won't stand up, but the winning goal scorer still may.

After 6OTs =))

  WannaBe: Kings win! Kings win!!!!
Jun-04-14  Mating Net: Wow, Justin Williams must have thought it was game 7!

WannaBe: Kings scored 3-unanswered goals to win game 1 by the final of 3-2.

Why don't we just skip to game 7 and save my heart.

Jun-04-14  Mating Net: I'm with ya Bugsy. This OT win has to be very tough for the Rangers to take given how well they started the game.

WannaBe: <Mating Net> Well, funny story here...

I cut the cord about 5 years ago, and don't miss 'live' TV.

For the Sharks series, since I now live at NoCal (San Mateo) I pick up Sharks radio.

For the Ducks series, tunein.com have internet radio of the Ducks announcers. (slightly delayed)

For the 'Hawks series, I found wgnradio.com and followed the games there, (approx. 50 seconds delay)

For the final, I am listening to MSG's internet radio, which have 3 min delay! Because before I came home, I was at the local watering hole, and the NBC TV coverage and the radio coverage was about way off!

So... Kings don't have (internet) radio feed, and it's very interesting, if not funny listening to other play-by-play and their broadcasters.

I miss Miller and Fox.

Jun-04-14  Mating Net: Good for you, the tube is no good. I hope to follow your example soon.

Jun-05-14  technical draw: Yes, rabbit, I'll take all that I can. (games that is, ah say, games that is)
Jun-05-14  technical draw: Now that I looked at it, it appears that my last two team games will be winners.
