WannaBe: No inquery, so... Fun info, horses born in N. Hemisphere are all registered Jan 1 as birthday, S. Hemisphere all Aug 1. This makes age restricted races (e.g. Triple Crown races are limited to 3-years old <ONLY>) easier to manage. Now on to them LAD and Red Birds.

Jan-12-06  RonB52734: I also propose that <WannaBe> include a FEN diagram of the current official position in his profile, along with the indication of "[color x] to move."
Jan-12-06  NakoSonorense: Hello, good morning!

I'm glad that you guys kept playing. It's still the opening and the moves are pretty obvious.

We're waiting for white's response to 3...cxd4, right?

I don;t know if I'll be here for the next few hours,so here are my votes:

for 4.Nxd4 Nf6
for 4.Qxd4 Nf6
for 4.c3 dxc3

See you around!

Jan-12-06  NakoSonorense: oops, I made a mistake.

This is the right vote:
for 4.Qxd4 Nc6

Jan-12-06  RonB52734: Current status: White played 4.c3

Black to play 4...?

click for larger view

The only vote so far in this position is <NakoSonorense> for 4...dxc3.

I agree.

Jan-12-06  sitzkrieg: All our work for nothing!
Now I go for dxc3 too. We have a majority and it seems obvious, but should we wait for the other two votes?
Jan-12-06  sitzkrieg: Ps we have a won position after dxc3. We migt offer them a draw right now out of pitty. I am sure they wont accept and their coming loss will then be felt extra hard.
Jan-12-06  RonB52734: <sitzkrieg> We can only make one more move today. It is now 1:45 p.m. Eastern Time. I will certainly be back on again at various times until 4:00 p.m., and then again between 9:30 p.m. and perhaps 11:00 p.m. Let's wait to hear from WannaBe, and perhaps be thinking ahead.
Jan-12-06  sitzkrieg: Oki !
Jan-12-06  Robin01: I cannot believe they played this gambit! Well, dxc3 is the only way to beat it. So I'm in for 4...dxc3. In OTB play I have played 4...d3 here and gotten decent results from it. But we have to take here.
Jan-12-06  sitzkrieg: Ok lets post our answer!
Jan-12-06  RonB52734: <Robin01> Noted. So at this point it's 4 votes to accept the pawn. What does white play next? bxc3 restores white's pawn structure but slows their piece development. Nxc3 develops a piece but concedes the central pawn majority. Nothing else seems likely.
Jan-12-06  RonB52734: <sitz> ok, will do.
Jan-12-06  Robin01: White will probably play Bc4 next, daring us to take another pawn, which we really do not want to do. They will probably play Nxc3 on the next move after Bc4. That's my quess.
Jan-12-06  RonB52734: I was thinking about 5.Bc4 a' la the Danish (?) gambit, but with black still having a d-pawn, I figured it was even more speculative.
Jan-12-06  sitzkrieg: Direct Bc4 seems pretty good..FOr us!!
Jan-12-06  NakoSonorense: what are they thinking giving us a pawn for development? They are underestimating us, but we will crush them for this!

Jan-12-06  sitzkrieg: Words well spoken
Jan-12-06  sitzkrieg: lets queen that extra pawn
Jan-12-06  sitzkrieg: I would do Nc3 if I were them. then Nc6 or Nf6
Jan-12-06  you vs yourself: I don't like the pawn gambit either. You guys should punish them thoroughly for showing such a lack of respect.
Jan-12-06  NakoSonorense: thanks for the support, you vs yourself.

Just one question, why do you think we're the underdogs? Lol

Jan-12-06  RonB52734: They want to make another move today, which would be their third. Letting them make it, when we have no obligation to reply until tomorrow, would benefit only us. What say my comrades?
Jan-12-06  you vs yourself: I think <hitman84> is rated around 2000 and most of the players on the black side that I know are around 1600. I don't know the rating of the others. Anyways, I was just trying to find an excuse to support my friends:)
Jan-12-06  sitzkrieg: Good thinking Ron!

By the way, i think our dxc3 surprised them.

Jan-12-06  sitzkrieg: <the black side that I know are around 1600>

That is not true. You know very well that my yahoo rating is 1100something
