WannaBe: Hello <TD>, good to hear from you. Hope all is well and please stop by more often(er)!!
Sep-20-19  technical draw: Crazy situation in Israel these days. The elections far from mending fences have made the fences harder to mend. The surprise showing of the Arab joint list will twelve or thirteen seats make it the largest party after Netanyahu's Likud and Benny Gantz's Blue and White.

Right now the BW have 33 seats to Likud's 31. However Benny Gantz is adamant against forming a government with Netanyahu.

That means that Netanyahu's idea of a broad right leaning coalition is almost dead. Netanyahu will have to convince Yamina, Israel Beiteinu which is Avigdor Liberman's party and some of the lessor parties to form a coalition.

The danger is that Gantz will probably make a deal with the Joint Arab list and that will be the end of Israeli progress.

Dangerous times ahead for Israel.

Most of chess action is in calculating the variations. That is not a break, IMO.

That isn't a legitimate criticism because a similar argument can be made for football.

In fact, the argument for football is <better>, because the calculation of chess variations is not observable (it's all in your head) yet the activity involved in getting the next play called <is> observable.

Oct-12-19  technical draw: Um, excuse me but I think the Yankees just won their first game against the Astros. I'm not sure, uh, let me check. Yes, confirmed. Yankees shut out the Astros 7-0. Thank you <WannaBe> for being an honorary Yankee by letting me use your forum for informational purposes only.

Oct-17-19  playground player: <WannaBe> I must appeal again to your expertise,if you don't mind.

One of my regular blog readers says she suddenly can't comment there, she says "everything has changed," including her Wordpress avatar. I checked to see if she wound up in my spam folder, but it's currently empty.

I'd give you more details, only I don't have any. It's also hard for me to pose questions properly because I'm so ignorant about computers. All I know is she can't post comments anymore and she says the whole page "looks different." But at my end, nothing has changed so I can't figure out what she's talking about.

Thank you in advance!
