Mar-11-06  Cogano: Hello again <Robin01> & I sincerely hope this finds you well. :) "Although you could have left their queen off:')" Well he could also have put it in a compromising position, especially one lined up with their King! :) Take very good care & have a great evening. Fare thee well melady! :)

  WannaBe: White has played 52.a6

our move due 6:00 PM EST Monday

We can play a waiting move? 52...Rd7? Kd6? Kf6?

Mar-12-06  RonB52734: I have posted a report of my prison chess visit on my chessforum.
Mar-12-06  sitzkrieg: Rd7 seems relatively safe..
Mar-12-06  RonB52734: I think ...Bc5 merits consideration, threatening ...Ra7.
Mar-12-06  Robin01: I still like Kd6 here.

If we play a move like Bc5, then they just play Qd5 and we have to put the bishop back on a7 anyhow.

Mar-12-06  RonB52734: Kd6 looks pretty tasty.
Mar-12-06  RonB52734: I propose that we offer a draw again, also.
Mar-12-06  Robin01: Yes, let's offer another draw. Good idea. It's been like 25 moves since we offered one last.

WannaBe: draw offer -- Oh sure, doesn't hurt.

move -- Kd6 looks pretty good too. Just have to keep the pieces close enough together. As members have pointed out in the past post(s).

Mar-13-06  RonB52734: I looked at this some more and I think Kd6 is good. If they were to check us now from the back rank, we'd have to go to Kc6. I just don't see anything for them. If the leave the Q where she is and start the Kingside rolling, we start the Rook checks again. I hope they accept the draw and end this thing while we're young.
Mar-13-06  sitzkrieg: Lol. Ok ill go for Kd6 too.
Mar-13-06  Cogano: Hi folks. Sorry for being late on you. But I didn't have Internet connection all day, nor could I access it from somewhere else! Given that they played a6, Kd6 makes more sense in this position than Ke6, which I suggested earlier.

Just the same, yesterday, I posted a line that had them begin their Kingside thrust with g4. Originally, I actually had it begin with h4. But I thought the line I came up with was too much in our favour. So I came up with one for g4. Unfortunately, I forgot my original line. So, instead I'll share with you a version I came with later, because it may still prove useful (as I am firm in the belief that they'll try to squeeze us between the Kingside & Queenside). I sure hope
you do find it useful. Take very good care all & have a great day. Cheers!:)

51.Qa8+ Ke7, 52.h4 Ke6, 53.Qe8+ Kf6, 54.Qd8+ Re7, 55.Qd6+ Re6, 56.Qf4+ Kg6, 57.g4 Be3, 58.Qc7 Kf6, 59.g5+ hxg5, 60.hxg5+ Bxg5, 61.Qc2+ Kf7, 62.Qf2+ Bf6, 63.Qf1 Re7, 64.a6 Ra7, 65.Qc4+ Ke7, 66.Qb4+ Kd7, 67.Qb6 Be5+, 68.Kg2 Rc7, 69.Qb5+ Ke6, 70.Qe8+ Kd5, 71.Qd8+ Kc6, 72.Qa8+ Kb6, 73.Qd5 Bc3, 74.Qe6+ Ka7, 75.Kf3 Bf6, 76.Qe2 Rc8, 77.Qb5 Rb8 (& pawn falls, or pawn & Queen fall!)

Mar-13-06  Robin01: I have a feeling they will play on. We might even be looking at a 100 move game here. Better pull out a Snickers Bar.
Mar-13-06  Cogano: Hello again <Robin01> & I sincerely hope this finds you well. I totally agree. For so long as they have both a-pawn & Queen, especially the Queen, they'll play on. For the foreseeable future, we MUST capture their a-pawn. Both draw & victory depend on that! Take very good care & have a great day. Fare thee well melady!:)
Mar-13-06  RonB52734: I suspect they may play on, but we are unanimous on the move and have 3 clear votes for a draw offer with none opposed. Accordingly...
Mar-13-06  Cogano: I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be gone for several hours & I don't know how soon I'll be able to post again. Sorry about that. Thank you for your understanding. Take very good care & have a great day. Cheers mates! :)
Mar-13-06  RonB52734: <Cogano> We have posted our move for the day. Even if the other side moved right away, we have 24 hours at the very least.
Mar-13-06  Robin01: All is quiet. Time for a cold one. My guess is that if they do not take our draw offer, then they are going to start pushing their king side pawns. That is their only chance for a win.
Mar-13-06  RonB52734: <Robin01> Can you see a line on the Kingside that poses any unsolvable problems for us? I sure can't.
Mar-13-06  Robin01: I do not see any right now. I will take a good look at the king side tomorrow night. I will have a lot more time tomorrow evening to look at it. I have to get some sleep now.
