Mar-10-06  sitzkrieg: Ehh. Remind me on the plan we had..

Ke7 any good?

Mar-10-06  Cogano: Thanks for posting their move <WannaBe>.

Hello again <sitzkrieg> & I sincerely hope this finds you well. Yes, I agree. 51...Ke7 sounds good to me. The line I posted a couple of posts ago is this, for your convenience:

50.Kh2 Rc7, 51.Qa8+ Ke7, 52.Qe4+ Kd6, 53.Qg6+ Kd5, 54.h4 Bd4, 55.g4 Kc4, 56.g5 hxg5, 57.hxg5 Ra7, 58.Qf5 Bc5, 59.Qg6 Bd4, 60.Qf5 Bc5 (If Kb4, then Qd3) & we draw, as we don't have anything better that I can see. They could try 60.Qc7+ Kb5 & we capture the pawn with the King.

Take very good care all & have a great day & a great weekend too. Cheers! :)

Mar-10-06  sitzkrieg: Thanks for posting again <Cogano>.

Kinda cool if we can really move our king to d5 all out in the open. I was thinking more in the direction of hiding near our pawns, but if your line works its pretty cool. I will look at it on sunday. For now i vote Ke7.

Mar-10-06  Robin01: I believe 51...Ke7 is good. I will look at it some more later tonight. We have plenty of time.

WannaBe: Yoda: Time, plenty we have! Topalov, win must tomorrow. <WannaBe> early up, must get. Coffee, from IV.
Mar-11-06  NakoSonorense: wannabe: answering your question form the kibitzer's cafe, yeah the quarter system is still on. I kinda dislike it cuz theres a lot of material to be learned in only 10 weeks. but well, what can you do? about spring break, dont know what im gonna do yet. maybe sleep and get some rest before spring qtr. begins. its only one week, so not enough time to go to mex. :( anyhow, maybe next time.

See ya around, my friend. take care

Mar-11-06  Robin01: <RonB52734> should be back on later in plenty of time to post our move. We have until 9:00 p.m. this evening. I'll check back in later this afternoon to see what is going on.

WannaBe: It boils down to 2 choices, Kd7, Ke7 to get out of the check and maintain protections on the pieces (R & B).

It would be interesting to see if white tries to play Qh8 next then we have 3 possibilities after that. Kf6, Ke6 or Kd6.

Kd6 allows us to get closer to the a-pawn for a possible capture.

Mar-11-06  AlexanderMorphy: anyone up for a correspondance game?
Mar-11-06  Cogano: Hi again all. I came up with a new line for you that you'll likely find outrageous, but it is dynamic. I still favour Ke7. I've tinkered with the position enough to conclude that it's much superior to d7. Anyway, following is the new line. Take very good care all & have a great day. Cheers! :)

51.Qa8+ Ke7, 52.g4 Ke6, 53.Qe8+ Kf6, 54.Qd8+ Re7, 55.Qd6+ Re6, 56.Qf4+ Kg6, 57.h4 Be3, 58.Qc7 Kf6, 59.g5+ hxg5, 60.hxg5+ Bxg5, 61.Qc3+ Re5, 62.Qc6+ Kf5, 63.Qa8 Re7, 64.a6 Be3.

Do tell me what you think. :)

WannaBe: we got 45 minutes, until 8 PM Eastern Time. People seem to favor Ke7. Any official vote/objections?
Mar-11-06  Cogano: Hello again <WannaBe> & I sincerely hope this finds you well. I officially vote for 51...Ke7. If & when enough of the others vote, I will post a vote update. :) Take very good care & have a great evening. :) Cheers mate! :)

WannaBe: <Cogano> Thanks, we've got about 22 min until the flag falls.
Mar-11-06  Robin01: So do I post 51...Ke7 now. I think it is time. I have 7:38 EST. We have about 20 minutes.
Mar-11-06  Robin01: <WannaBe> You can post it now if you want. I do not know how to make a diagram of the position.
Mar-11-06  Cogano: Hello <AlexanderMorphy> & I sincerely hope this finds you well. Sorry for this late reply but I actually overlooked your post (it was so small!) Sure! I'd love to play a correspondence game with you. But, where do we play? & how often are we to move? I mean will it proceed like the consultation game I'm playing now with one move (maximum 2) per day or what? I'd appreciate some more details on this. Thanks much for that. :) Take very good care & have a great day & a great weekend too. Cheers mate! :)

P.S. What are you doing in Kuwait if you don't mind my asking? :) Thanks. :)

WannaBe: <Robin01> Okay. I'm trying to see if <RonB52734> can make it on time. I see that we still have 15 min. =)

Mar-11-06  Robin01: It should be interesting. Good job on posting the move. Although you could have left their queen off:')
Mar-11-06  Robin01: On posting the FEN, do you just post our move and then skip a few lines and put the FEN numbers and letters and then post it and it magically appears?

WannaBe: <Robin01> LOL. Don't think they would like it too much.

They can plan 52. Qe4+ then should we scoot back to Kd8?

If they choose to do Qh8 or Qg7 we need to move the K up to the 6th rank. The question is then what is the best square. Kf6, Ke6 or Kd6 are our choices.

Playing Kd6 moves the king close to capture the a-pawn and also closer to our R & B.

Mar-11-06  Robin01: <Playing Kd6 moves the king close to capture the a-pawn and also closer to our R & B.> I think I liked Kd6 better if they played Qe4+, but I will have to relook at it.
