<Jer 20:10-13

Jeremiah said:

"I hear the whisperings of many:
'Terror on every side!
Denounce!
Let us denounce him!'
All those who were my friends are on the watch for any misstep of mine.

Perhaps he'll be trapped; then we can prevail, and take our vengeance on him.

But the LORD is with me, like a mighty champion: my persecutors will stumble, they will not triumph.

In their failure, they will be put to utter shame, to lasting, unforgettable confusion.

O LORD of hosts, you who test the just, who probe mind and heart, let me witness the vengeance you take on them, for to you, I have entrusted my cause.

Sing to the LORD,
praise the LORD,
for he has rescued the life of the poor
from the power of the wicked!">

<1 Corinthians 13

13 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

9 For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; 10 but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. 13 And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.>

<The Promise of the Lord's Coming

The Second Letter of Peter

Chapter 3

1 This is now, beloved, the second letter I am writing to you; in them I am trying to arouse your sincere intention by reminding you

2 that you should remember the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets, and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken through your apostles.

3 First of all you must understand this, that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and indulging their own lusts

4 and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since our ancestors died, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation!?

5 They deliberately ignore this fact, that by the word of God heavens existed long ago and an earth was formed out of water and by means of water,

6 through which the world of that time was deluged with water and perished.

7 But by the same word the present heavens and earth have been reserved for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the godless.

8 But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.

9 The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and everything that is done on it will be disclosed.

11 Since all these things are to be dissolved in this way, what sort of persons ought you to be in leading lives of holiness and godliness,

12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set ablaze and dissolved, and the elements will melt with fire?

13 But, in accordance with his promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness is at home.

Final Exhortation and Doxology

14 Therefore, beloved, while you are waiting for these things, strive to be found by him at peace, without spot or blemish;

15 and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation. So also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him,

16 speaking of this as he does in all his letters. There are some things in them hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other scriptures.

17 You therefore beloved, since you are forewarned, beware that you are not carried away with the error of the lawless and lose your own stability.

18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity.

Amen.>

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
<Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.>
< kutztown46:> <Your expertise and experience uniquely qualifies you to take a leadership role in this effort. If you choose not to be closely involved, then this effort will not go forward.> Thanks for your efforts to make our participation at this site more enjoyable and providing the means to increase our playing strength.
Your roll as forum coordinator is of great value because it provides the necessary guidance for coordinating our analysis and ideas.
My suggestion for a possible improvement to our existing forum system has been answered.
I was trying to create an awareness at the opening stage to replay the games from our opening explorer first before accepting the displayed value used to guide our selection criteria.
The current forum system will serve us well again in our next game because of the increased interest GM Umansky will generate.
As to formally soliciting my help in the forum for guiding analysis, I suggest to keep it as informal as possible to avoid the perception of a hierarchy which could effect contributions of inferior perceptions.
Time permitting I shall help the team to my best ability in every way I can.
Now here is an exerpt from our forums in regard to opening selection which shows our diverse view points.
Quote:
< - I think that there should be a concerted effort in the Opening to simply shut up. Maybe one day before our first move, and then for the next 10 moves, stop the chatter, stop the endless debates about e4 vs. d4, stop the posts about having never played this or that line, stop the posts about the weather, stop the suggestions of silly gambits we know won't be played, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. There will be a lot of voters in the first few moves who will not be especially sophisticated players. Many won't read anything. For those who do, I hate to think we are going to swamp them with pages of pointless kibitzing.>
  jessicafischerqueen: Hey <Chancho>
Thanks for finding that <Labate> link and reposting it in the Fischer page for me.
I"ve been following your posts recently about <Mr. Trice> and I'm not sure if you know this but me and <Dom Daniel> were STRONGLY warned over a year ago never to even mention his name again.
However, in the "post-Labate court decision" era, it seems that <CG.com> has altered it's "trice policy"--
They apparently have grown weary of his odd behavior, to put it mildly.
Also, <Mr. Labate> sent me two emails recently listing dozens and dozens of websites he runs.
Most of them are devoted to exposing frauds in relation to chess history and chess websites.
I think mr. <Labate> is a strange fellow also.
I wonder if he is friends with <Mr. Winter>, the chess mystery guy?
Many of the <Labate> sites are also devoted to exposing cases of non-chess related web and publishing frauds.
I think he aspires to be a kind of "cyber Ralph Nader."
Ok one last note- sockpuppets and banning IP addresses.
In my recent quest to gain access to blocked <video server sites> by using Proxy IPs, I discovered that a whole pile of "IP Proxy" sites and software is devoted to a very specific clientele--
PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN BANNED FROM CHAT ROOMS who want to get back in and continue arguing!!!
HAHAHAHAHAAH
heh
It's true <Chancho>-- many of these products are advertised to this ultra specific market.
Also, I tried a few of the free products and they work.
It's actually true-- if a person really wants to go to the trouble-- they can prevent themselves from being banned from <any chat site> on the Net.
Really easiy in fact.
Also, the literature on "cyber bullying" is growing into an academic field. There are even PBS public service ads now on TV against cyber bullying.
What a strange "world" we live in--
Ok thanks for listening. Any opinions/feedback welcome.
Jess
