Archiving efforts may be taking their toll too. Nothing that actually damages the site, just temporary access problems. BTW - AFAIK Chessgames has never, ever, stored CC numbers. They were used and deleted. <Sargon> has recently been working on a setup for a recurring payments option, but that isn't in effect yet, and even that wasn't supposed to store CC information. Keeping up with happenings here at this time is a nerve-wracking experience - it's not a surprise that people feel they need to stay away for their own peace of mind. It also won't be a surprise when they come back later. Hotel California. :) |
