saffuna: <So is much of the stuff posted by you and <DWOB>, since DF died.

The two of you, plus <CHC>, have tried to initiate a cyber-Night of the Long Knives, to purge cg.com of anyone you don't like.

As long as we are keeping the record straight.>

There's been a lot of divisive stuff posted by different people. I would put <big pawn> at the top of the list, though. After all, he's the only one who's suggested another poster is responsible for DF's death. Over and over and over.

And certain posters have been trying to get some of us on the right banned.

Over and over and over.

saffuna: I disagree with that. You righties are too much fun.
Aug-17-18  JimNorCal: Let's pick another forum for L vs R and other non-chess items?

Let's save this forum for damage reports, as suggested by <jfq>

Aug-17-18  JimNorCal: damage report (already reported multiple times): <Live Game> still active.

Side effects: non existent game Carlsen vs Svider in database. Biel 2018 reports 31 games but should be 30 games.

Aug-17-18  JimNorCal: damage report: different device types get different output.

for example: DFreeman has been "Person of the Day" for weeks on my iPhone, whereas the PotD changes daily for laptop and iPad.

  jessicafischerqueen:

<Colleagues> please follow <JimNorCal's> lead on this.

Do you see the damage he just reported? This is exactly what the new owner(s)/admin(s) need to see and I doubt they are going to want to wade through pages of bickering to find this essential information.

If you ever *really* cared about this website, please leave this forum for damage reports or other material directly relevant to the owners/administrators.

Everyone can argue as much as they like, but please make this the one forum at cg.com where we don't argue.

Classy post ...

Aug-17-18  morfishine: <saffuna,... After all, he's the only one who's suggested another poster is responsible for DF's death. Over and over and over.> Never Happened

Get your facts straight <sophony> before posting

Its well documented that <tpstar> initiated the allegations against <DWOB> and in a most reprehensible manner: within 24 hours of notification of Daniel's passing. No matter if what <tpstar> alleged was true or not, the timing of these posts were awful and ugly in the extreme, and IMO, served no other purpose than to expose <tpstar>'s low moral character.

His attacks against <DWOB>, while right or wrong, were at the same time, a slap in the face against Daniel

All <tpstar> had to do was wait a couple of weeks before broaching the subject (a subject, IMO, that should only be addressed in a specific member forum)

But thats the character of low-lifes like <tpstar>: they don't really care where or when they spew their venom and vomit

I have a damage report!!

AhhOooohGhaaaaaa
AhhOooohGhaaaaaa

Today's GOTD link is broken. It took me here:

[bad chessgames.com link]

[http:// www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1147785]

And it showed me this message:

<Error: Invalid Game ID.

Sorry, the game requested (1147785) is not in our database. It may have been deleted due to redundancy or inaccuracy.>

Aug-17-18  zanzibar: <JFQ> - when <Sargon> posts that he ready for the day-to-day handling of the site, then your argument would have more merit.

I hope that <Sargon> will soon announce a reset, and basically invite user input from that point on.

But until then, I'm afraid that there is simply too much volume for <Sargon> to ever process, even if he had the inclination.

Aug-17-18  Boomie: <"essential information">

Perhaps someone should collect a list of To Dos and post it regularly so the important stuff periodically rises through the Grimpen Mire.

https://images.search.yahoo.com/sea...

Aug-17-18  zanzibar: Interesting link <Boomie>, though I can say I fully understand its significance.

But yeah, that's not a bad idea you suggest. Might go into a collection for easy reference, that is, if someone is foolhardy enough to volunteer for the task!

Check It Out: <Wannabe> thank you for the detail on the password situation. What is your conclusion?
Aug-17-18  Tiggler: I wonder how the Dark Lord <Sauron> is getting on. Seems he has discovered problems beyond his powers.
Aug-17-18  optimal play: <zanzibar: <JNC> you're picking sides... <If you read the game pages, player pages, tournament pages there is a rare but fairly steady stream of insults to (for example) Trump supporters with occasional angry responses.> But you sort of did that to me in the <DF> forum when you piled on with <BP> and <OCF> early-on with the <decorum> thing.>

No, that's not right.

I compiled an objective and impartial report regarding the posts on Daniel Freeman's forum:

optimal play chessforum (kibitz #1601)

Anyone can check my account of the matter and see for themselves.

Aug-18-18  jith1207: <optimal play>: while I respect the work you have put in there, I think there may be a little bias or misunderstanding on your part.

Yes, <DWOBoogie> had posted few more than anyone until page 25, these are nice posts, written in respectful manner. Whether he endeared himself to be chief mourner is not my thing to judge.

But Daniel's page went into a spin in that same page 25, when some certain user started asking <DWOBoogie> about phony tears, directly instigating arguments. Going back to all pages from stonehenge's post, I see that as a turning point where it all started going wrong in Daniel's forum. I think you have been kind to that certain user, trying to reason for him while trying to point fingers at others.

Much appreciate your efforts, but I feel it doesn't tell the true story, if that's what the intention behind.

Aug-18-18  optimal play: <jith1207> If that "certain user" is the one I think you mean, I listed him as the no.4 culprit, so he wasn't getting a free pass.

As regards <DWOBoogie>, it was on page 23 where he made an unprovoked snarky reference directed towards that "certain user", which elicited the anticipated response about "phony tears".

I made a conscious effort to set aside my personal bias in reporting on Daniel's forum.

Aug-18-18  JimNorCal: damage report: we're falling behind in new content. For example, completely missed the British Championship and Sinquefield begins tomorrow.
Aug-18-18  jith1207: <optimal play>: sorry, I meant page #23 only. Can you please go back and read, <DWOBoogie> was posting normally in that page with no provocation at all about anyone or anything. Even after the reply he got from #4, his reply was very cordial and to the point about his intended post to funeral home or address given. The subsequent reply from #4 was even worse, while also calling for argument with <CHC>.

While you didn't give a free pass to both, your order of events are pointed wrongly at one side lopsidedly, while that person didn't do anything to illicit such response or arguments, as you seem to imply in your reply above. I don't see it, if you see a specific point that I'm not seeing it, please post in your forum and we can discuss there.

Aug-18-18  optimal play: <jith1207> Response on my forum.
Aug-18-18  Dr Winston OBoogie: <While you didn't give a free pass to both, your order of events are pointed wrongly at one side lopsidedly, while that person didn't do anything to illicit such response or arguments, as you seem to imply in your reply above. <jith1207>. Oppy is a depressive racist who counts out how many black people are in certain football teams (and even gets that wrong) and who's offended I put him on ignore. Anyone with a brain can look at that page and see I did nothing wrong but I appreciate you pointing out he's very wrong. Just leave him to it and let whoever the new admins are make the decision and if they feel I've disrespected Daniel Freeman I'll willingly walk away from this site. It's gone to s--t anyway :)

Aug-18-18  optimal play: <Dr Winston OBoogie> Your argumentum ad hominem avoids addressing my report regarding Daniel Freeman's players page which can be found on my forum.

I invite you to review my report and address any issues which you may disagree with on my forum or your own.

Please refrain from posting off-topic comments on the Chessgames Member Support Forum.
