| Feb-19-11 | | SirChrislov: <chessgames.com> Very well Sir, I will submit some today and the rest later, as my time permits. Thank you for the fast response. |

| Feb-19-11 | | Lennonfan: Chessgames.com....as i see your now actively speaking and helping other cg.com members problems or enquiries, could you please tell me why nothing has been done when iv "blown the whistle" on certain members,as you instructed me to do yourselves,as the people concerned are still doing the same things for which i blew the whistle for in the first place? I understand your busy, but when iv paid my premium membership will these things be allowed to continue? I dont want to bother you with emails, and blowing the whistle is pointless,so what exactly can i do? |

| Feb-20-11 | | Octavia: <Ketevan Arakhamia-Grant> You have two files for Keti's games! Could you unite them & add a pic? On the larger file there is a link to many photos.
Thank you.
How do you decide which games to include? Keti plays lots but you only have a few of them. |
|
| Feb-21-11 | | Octavia: thanks ! You seemed to have united her 2 files AND added lots of games, including the latest 4ncl games. The one against Buckley was especially good with a N sac! Now we just need the Frauenbundesliga games AND a pic. : ) |

| Feb-22-11 | | bumpmobile: <cg.com> It appears as if your daily puzzle was confused by the fact that the game started without the rook on a1. I found it humorous myself (and I finally solved a puzzle) but others may be annoyed by that. |

 | | chessgames.com: <myschkin> I'm not sure where all that "Hiarcs" stuff came from; perhaps the original PGN came from the Hiarcs software package. Anyhow we cleaned it up. <bumpmobile> Yes, the routine that makes the graphic for the daily puzzle doesn't handle odds games. Fortunately the puzzle was still valid with or without the rook on a1. <Octavia> We merged Ketevan's games. <morfishine> Thanks. <Lennonfan> If you submit a complaint and no action seems to have been done then the administrator who reviewed the case must have felt that no action was necessary. At the very least the complaint is added to the person's dossier. Don't let that stop you from continuing to use the Whistle feature if you think it's necessary. |

| Feb-23-11 | | Lennonfan: <Chessgames.com staff>...im just inquiring to the reasons why my comments on the GM short page have been deleted???? Sure,i admit some of the posts were off topic and i was talking with others about football and music, yet everyone elses posts whom i was kibitzing with have had their comments left on,yet they were discussing the same things with me!!! Could you please explain why...thank you |

 | | tpstar: <Lennonfan> Player pages may be moderated by that player, just like chessforums, without any involvement by the site Administrators. GM Short may remove anything from his page without explanation, even with no rules broken, although there are set provisions against mass deletions. I had a very useful post about the Moeller Attack in A J Goldsby vs F Goodenough, 1974 which got swept away because everybody else was fighting. It happens. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <At the very least the complaint is added to the person's dossier> Chessgames:
Excuse me, what, exactly do you mean by that?
Do you mean you archive the post that was complained about under the name of the person who was complained about? Or do you mean you just keep track of the number of complaints against a post in a personal "dossier", even if there was not enough basis for the complaint to result in the post being deleted? If this is so- I find this entirely unacceptable.
If this is so- what is to stop any member from deliberately targeting every post by a particular member they don't like by blowing the whistle, and eventually making that particular member's 'DOSSIER' so huge that you think that person is now a problem? I want further exact information on what you mean by a personal dossier. A "dossier" that merely counts the number of complaints- and doesn't archive the actual posts in question- even if every single one of the posts was judged that it broke no regulation and didn't need to be deleted= that sounds ridiculously unfair to me. It also sounds like a handy weapon for stalkers who enjoy launching malevolent vendettas to help defame other members. |

 | | chessgames.com: <Lennonfan>We deleted several posts for using expressions like "*** kissing obsession" and "you're an idiot". Some of your posts were removed, as well as the people you were bickering with, as it's our opinion that GM Short has no desire to see that stuff littering his page. We have no opinion of who started it, or who's to blame, just that it has no business being on GM Short's page. Our opinion was vindicated when later Mr. Short signed in and removed still more messages, mostly having to do with Yoko Ono and other off-topic posts. <JFQ> Don't worry, we're not the NSA. We just have a free-form text field called the "dossier" much like the profile, except dossiers are only for administrators to see. We do not have photographic memories to recall exactly who was accused of bothering whom, so these records help us create a history to help us place new complaints into context. Also, if somebody is suspected of cheating in the Chessgames Challenge or in the Chessbookie game with multiple accounting, notes are placed in the dossier. This way we can give somebody the benefit of the doubt, but if their IP address continues to be implicated in such things we can start to conclude that it's more than an unfortunate coincidence. In short, it may be true that warrantless complaints will succeed in making somebody's dossier larger, however understand that having a large dossier is not an indictment of anything, nor does it make the person more likely to be placed on probation. Nobody ever goes onto probation because their dossier exceeded a certain length. Some very good members of this site have long dossiers, it's mostly a byproduct of how long they've been using the site and little else. |

| Feb-23-11 | | Lennonfan: <chessgames.com>..ok thanks for the explanation, but although i did say something you alluded to,i never called anyone "stupid"!
<jessicafischerqueen> we all have to abide by the same rules luv,and <every post can be targeted by a particular member they dont like>....OBVIOUSLY...unless the posts are *offensive* so im sure someone like yourself has no reason to worry!! And you cant just demand<i want EXACT information on what you mean by a personal dossier>!! This is a chess site, not big brother! If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to worry about...like cg.com says they are not the NSA!!! Just appreciate everything this site offers you or your free to go elsewhere..as am i.. |

 | | chessgames.com: <Penguincw: What is the maximum amount of users that we can have on our Favourites List?> It's supposed to be set to 200, but upon inspection it seems that perhaps that limit is not being enforced. <Phony Benoni: Back in 2003, when the Tactical Puzzle went daily, a procedure was outlined for submitting puzzle suggstions. Are you still accepting these suggestions?> Sure, that procedure is still good. |

 | | kingscrusher: Hi Chessgames.com
I recently played GM Nigel Short in a simultaneous display and lost. Nigel played really well to crush one of my pet systems in the french defence - the burn variation. I have no excuses at all especially given he was completely exhausuted from having to do another simul earlier against some really strong juniors. A great credit must be given to Nigel for his UK touring, and recent excellent Gibraltar tournament result coming 2nd to Ivanchuk. I am not sure if it is a candidate for a future "game of the day", but if it is, here it is: GM Nigel Short vs CM Tryfon Gavriel
♘igel Short was born on June 1st 1965, he started out as a chess prodigy, first attracting
media attention by beating Viktor ♔orchnoi and Tigran ♙etrosian in
simultaneous exhibitions at the ages of ten and twelve years old respectively.

| Feb-27-11 | | hms123: <chessgames.com> Do you know yet when the next <White vs.Black> Team Game will start? There still seems to be some leftover energy from the last world Game and it might be good to tap into it. thanks--hms |

| Feb-28-11 | | chesssantosh: hello <chessgames.com>
i have a rare type of problem.when i try to kibitz on a game it simply does not allow me to do so.this is quite random.sometime i am able to kibitz on one game but on another it restricts me.whats going on?could you please try to resolve this problem? |
|
Feb-28-11
 | | chessgames.com: <chesssantosh> Yes I can help. You are experiencing a known bug with the pgn4web viewer; really I should say, our implementation of the pgn4web viewer. You see, pgn4web uses certain keys to do special things like flip the board, auto-play, etc. If you type those keys in your message your browser gets confused as to whether that's part of your message or a viewer control key. We are working on eliminating this bug (the author sent us some helpful advice, we just have to implement it) but in the meantime there is a very easy workaround. Simply press the "kibitz" button right off the bat to get a preview screen, and then the typing you do on that screen cannot fail. Sorry for the inconvenience. |
