 | | chessgames.com: <kingscrusher> That's a very good idea, and in fact we are working on something a little more general than your idea which will accommodate that concept, and more. I am speaking of the "Stickies" feature, that odd little list of links currently in use only during Team Games. This feature could and should be expanded so that it applies to games (and tournaments and players and openings and anything else we can think of). Then, if the software notices that some links in the "stickies" happen to point to youtube or other well known video sites, we know that we have a game with video content. Of course it's not just videos that people can put in the Stickies, but that is definitely one of the most exciting uses we can think of. (Then again, members always surprise us with their ingenuity.) Of course for people like yourself, with videos on youtube, there will be a kind of instant marriage between Chessgames and your Youtube Channel. That's fine with us. Chessgames will bring you more Youtube hits, and hopefully Youtube will bring more people to Chessgames. |

 | | chessgames.com: <LIFE Master AJ> <Would you mind doing me one favor? Could you let everyone know that <lennonfan> has indeed been stalking me?> I'm not sure how you want to define "stalking" but I'm happy to explain the facts of the matter from our perspective. In our "communications" with lenonfan (if you can even call them that) he tends to bounce schizophrenically among a few subjects that he's obsessed with. It used to be Domdaniel, then later The Focus, but recently it apparently switched to you. He often speaks of private communications he has had with you. That's awful about those threats, but I don't seriously think this guy will cross the pond over some internet forum vendetta. Nevertheless, I can't blame you for your prudence. As the Norwegian tragedy proves, crazier people than this troll walk among us. |

| Jul-24-11 | | LIFE Master AJ: One other note - and I hope you won't delete this.
<Thefocus> Has complained bitterly that (the user) <lennonfan> was stalking him. However, it would seem that <TheFocus> has definitely been guilty of the same typ of behavior ... |

| Jul-24-11 | | Shams: <AJ><I even contacted several law enforcement agencies - like the FBI; but they seem to have no interest in him.> Wow, I can't imagine why.
<(For my part, I have been avoiding the flame wars as much as possible lately.)> Credit where it's due: indeed you have. |

Would it be possible to tweak the process such that if a member is on my Ignore list, then the "reply star" on my chessforum's recent kibitz tracker isn't activated by this person's post? Sorry about the clunky language, hopefully you know what I mean. |

 | | chessgames.com: <twinlark> No need to reword it, I understand completely what you mean. In fact I've long considered that exact issue to be a small kind of a bug with the ignore list. To answer your question, yes I think it should be possible, and not a bad idea. |

| Jul-24-11 | | TheFocus: <LIFE Master AJ: One other note - and I hope you won't delete this.> <Thefocus> <Has complained bitterly that (the user) <lennonfan> was stalking him. However, it would seem that <TheFocus> has definitely been guilty of the same type of behavior ...> On the contrary, I never complained to <CG> that <Lennonfan> was stalking me. WE had a vicious flame war, and he was put on probation. I told <CG> I would not engage in flame wars in the future. As his last few incarnations arrived here, <Goldeneyezz>, <Beadieyeezz> <benbook>, I put them on Ignore so that no flame wars would occur. You can check my Forum for that. I refused to engage him.
That was one of the benefits of the TRUCE started by <Once>. I didn't engage him. You get that? Now would someone please post this at <AJ>'s Forum so he can see how dishonest he is being? |
|
| Jul-24-11 | | Ignored: <TheFocus> Done. |
|
| Jul-24-11 | | TheFocus: <Ignored> Thank you. Of course, he would have read it anyway.
<AJ> has me on IGNORE, but he reads every post I make. What a hypocrite.
Of course, I will post it at my Forum too. |

 | | Domdaniel: <AJ> You have my sympathy. The experience of being stalked, threatened and defamed by Lennonfan is one I wouldn't wish on anyone. But I think he's gone now, at least from CG. Hopefully the emails will just stop if you ignore him. The flaming has also largely ceased. I blame Lennonfan for poisoning the atmosphere in the first place. [since I'm also on AJ's ignore list, maybe somebody could pass this on ...] |

 | | Domdaniel: I spoke too soon. LMAJ is now ignoring <Ignored> as well. So it goes. |
|
| Jul-25-11 | | Ignored: <Domdaniel> I am not on ignore. I did post your message, but it disappeared a few minutes later along with messages from <jessicafischerqueen> and <OhioChessFan>. |
|
| Jul-25-11 | | TheFocus: <Ignored> Thanks again for re-posting that to <FoolsGold>'s Forum. He thinks you are me but I don't create sock puppet accounts to do that. I am surprised that you did not get put on his IGNORE list. |

 | | kingscrusher: Hi Chessgames.com
Many thanks for putting a page for the British Championship. One slight issue I noticed is that Susan Lalic is missing from the player list. She is also doing exceptionally well now - beating two GMs to be on 2/2. You do have her son though - Peter Lalic - he is also playing in the main British Championship section. I guess it might be this possible ambiguity which created the issue. Best wishes

 | | chessgames.com: I see British Championships (2011)/Susan Arkell Lalic in the list -- if there ever was a problem, there isn't any more. Please note that we automatically process new games from the tournament as they come in, so if we receive weird PGN the scoreboard might look weird for a short while, before an admin can fix it. That quality of their PGN is a bit spotty but we can correct it with a little effort. |
